Thank you for all you supportive words...
my hips are still good today.. my face is broken out.. ugh and I am losing hair!
so its a day to day thing.
I should ask, what do you mean by kirtan?
We have a specific meditation called "kirtan Kriya" mantra, mudra, eye focus...
The Alzheimers foundation actually has published research on using this meditation.
Kirtan Kriya - the meditation is meant to balance the two hemispheres of the brain.
Then
we have the generic 'kirtan' a vocal calling and response of chants (for us its Gurbani, a form of Sanskrit that the Sikhs use for sacred writing... every word is meant to work as a sound.
We call the kirtan chanting "the sound current" and believe that we can change our vibration with sound ... it hits the nervous system...
as we make the sounds the tongue strikes the pallet in about 84 different places that stimulate the brain and glands. (pinael and pituitary )
(tomorrow we have a special 2.5 hours of chanting starting at 4am!!)
Yes the feet are big detoxers like the tongue.
The self care in the Ayurvedic tradition is quite interesting..
It is suggested to take cold sprinkles/quick showers and oiling the whole body several times in the morning.
then the oil on the feet at night.
I was just reading somewhere about clay packs being used on the feet with fantastic results.
there is a trend to detox via the feet.
A nurse here does this for people .. she soaks the fee in various solutions and finds what the toxins are...
..there are incredible stories associated with this... I dont know what it is called but several people do it around my town.
