The following is an excerpt from Dr. Robert Young's book "Sick and Tired" (page 71):

"Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a safe, stable substance that releases oxygen in the body and may chelate foreign material. It comes in the form of a concentrated solution of sodium chlorite (NaClO2), a precursor to chlorine dioxide. Remember that our micro-tormentors are anaerobic. * After reading both parts of John Humble's book, I now believe that ClO2 works NOT by releasing Oxygen, but rather by the action of the Chlorine Dioxide itself as an oxidizer.
