I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, 78912.
And, we wouldn't necessarily notice, I think, because everything might smell, to us, as 'normal'.
I believe each body finds its own ways 'out' for whatever needs to be 'out'...leaving each of us somewhat 'different' than our neighbors. Dogs, for example, notice our 'differences' immediately.
Each and every household smells differently, according the the combination of people, and critters, who live there. And according to the substances in the environment there. Thank goodness we have immune systems!
I remember that, in the home of a family of East Indian origin, I could smell rancid butter.
And, in another, dinner cooking, baby powder, and, of all things, love...the atmosphere was charged with loving sexuality. It was downright beautiful. Those folks were white and N. American natives.
Then there are the differences between the people of different countries...perhaps because of the foods eaten.
I mentioned to a Taiwanese lady that I had read that we smell of beef and milk, to the Chinese. She carried on the conversation without batting an eye, "Oh, we have gotten over that..." confirming the fact.
Later, I asked her what scents and odors reminded her of her childhood home. To my surprise she pointed out the scent of cabbage, slow-cooking to broth, as her fondest memory.
Somehow, I don't think it is the odor, itself, that counts, as much as the memories/feelings attached to it, whatever they may be.
And, there are pheromones...hormones we sense (not smell) with tiny glands in our noses that deliver the message directly to the center of our brains, where they affect our emotions.
A tiny baby emits pheromones that make us want to protect and nurture the infant. My knees go weak. You can have my purse...I'll keep the baby, thank you very much.
Don't know if any of this helps. If you are having difficulties, perhaps a little lavender in your bath, frequently, would be useful, or a slice of lemon, with some rind, in your water.
Young Living Essential Oils are the best I have ever found. I think they are quite pure. I love a touch of Ylang-Ylang as a perfume.
Probably any problem would be only temporary, until you have done some cleanses.
