Yaz has a different synthetic progesterone hormone than the mirena, but it does have a progestin...so it could cause similar issues...also it is tricking your body into thinking it is pregnant, so there are the side effects that go with that. Also I think these birth control pills effect potassium, blood sugar, and vitamin B's in the body which all can affect the heart and weight and endocrine system (including adrenal gland and thyroid)...and if our bodies consider these fake hormones toxic, it can clog our livers and gall bladder which can lead to joint and abdominal pain. I cannot believe that all these side affects are not being tracked...most women don't associate any of it, and worse than that, if they do they are told by their doctors that it is not true...true crime...good luck to both of you

mirena is the same as Norplant...........its like they just took the Norplant left overs and starting making them T shaped and called it a IUD...go read the Norplant complaints .....ITS ALL THE SAME COMPLAINTS
