First of all, this is not a democracy, it is a constitutional republic. Democracy is one of the worst forms of government there is. It is the tyranny of the minority by the majority. Social pressure to conform to the moral ruling majority is why everybody on this planet is sexually frustrated and living in a state of perpetual tumescence. "Until the naturalness of sex is accepted, nobody will be able to love anybody." (Osho said that, not me.) People will continue to seek power and hoard money in futile attempts to fill the holes in their hearts that are wounded and bleeding for the lack of love. When the experience of mutual of simultaneous pleasure in equal measure becomes more commonplace, people will cherish life and respect one another more. Human interactions will cease to be nothing more than chexxx games and strategic planning.
Torture is a good reason for people to start cultivating vertical relationships, as well as accepting and developing their own creative potential. We are creative beings. Creativity is instilled in the very fabric of our existence. We are creating our reality 24/7, whether we are aware of it or not. If you want to know what you have created, take a look around you. What you see is what you have manifested. If you don't like it, time to change things. In order to do so, you must start using your creative abilities in a more conscious and deliberate manner.
In a democracy, the problem of competing visions and collective creativity is solved by majority rules. If the majority is intolerant of diversity, you better cultivate an appreciation of suffering, because "they" (the governors people have apathetically allowed into power) will hire fascists to torture you if you annoy them by refusing to behave as the majority rules. A nice way to learn how to appreciate suffering, is by contemplating the heart of what is, even when it is painful. I have made major strides in this direction by intereacting with a certain canine sadist on this forum, who seems to enjoy abusing other human beings by likening them to stupid animals. Does torture exist? Yes.
None the less, there is hope. Why do I think so? Because more dentists commit suicide than any other occupation. Apparently torturing others makes you wish you were dead or something. And who are the people that do the torturing? The very angry, hard-hearted ones I suppose. Such disposition must be sociopathic. I hear that one in twenty people are sociopathic. That is a good reason to be pro-eugenic imho. I'm sure we have identified all the up and coming sociopaths in Texas, by asking collectivism questions on the TASP test in public schools. We should sterilize all the sociopaths before they reach puberty, to be sure they won't pass on their genes, and give them jobs as physical therapists and dentists. Torture problem solved.
The reason a fascist regime can move in, start torturing people, and all that is going on, is because the majority of individuals who comprise the mainstream public have become apathetic and neglected to assume their civic responsibilities. In the 90's I became involved in a grass roots effort to get the Dietary Supplement Health and Education act passed. Hundreds of volunteers across the nation set up tables in front of health food stores, put pencils in the hands of concerned citizens, explained what was happening, helped them write a one sentence plea to their congressmen, and mailed the letters for them. We also organized meetings with congressmen to educate them. I read that Jake Pickle was having prostate problems, so I sent him a bottle of Bearberry. He sent me a letter of thanks, said it was sitting on the shelf, he was looking it, thinking about taking some.
We got the bill passed. The government exists to serve the people. People who are lazy and irresponsible, get served by fascists. Fascists are a lot like mean, zealouticious, aggressive cancer cells that live in the human body. If you don't detox regularly and actively take measures to prevent them from flourishing, they will exterminate you.
For a while, I was saving the letters that I was writing to my congressmen. The file was nearly an inch thick when I cleaned out my desk and threw it away. I wrote my first letter to Jake pickle when I was 21, told him that we need to decriminalize prostitution. They may be tapping my phone and reading my e-mails, but they haven't tortured me yet, unless you consider it torture to be a sensual virtuoso, living in a country where it is illegal to play sexual musical. Please do not think me solicitous. I do not believe in breaking the law, I believe in changing it.
The people can and will change things, when they become willing to actively take part in the process of creating a better solution. Until then, meditation and conscious creation is the best solution for creating your own little utopian bubble. The internet poses a great challenge to those who would like to stifle freedom of speech. If they threaten to torture me for speaking my mind, I will take my website down, stop posting on Cure Zone and take a lethal dose of Iodine. Until then, the truth shall set me free.
Of course I am just kidding.
