I spent most of my life eating margarine. I know now not to use it and use butter if I have to. Sometimes I crush garlic in real butter and microwave it (10 sec.) for toast.
But now I like to use crushed garlic,freshed chopped parsly or any herb, in extra virgin olive oil. then I dip my bread in it. Same idea as foccacia or mediterranian bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Make a quick salad dressing,nothing fancy. Ex-vir olive oil, vineger, garlic,parmasan,any herb. Shake and put on salad.
I sautee onions,garlic,ginger, for stir fry though. I have a long way to go. Sautee ing in olive oil for a couple of seconds, add veg, sautee for another minute, add sauce, to me still leaves the nutrition in it and if flavors the vegetable.
