I just called the pharmacy and he was given Clarithromycin. The girl working there asked the pharmacist and they said it wasnt a quinolone.

Mold/fungal infections are serious! This hits an especially raw/exposed nerve right now with me.

The mycotoxins in Antibiotics make a fungal (mold/yeast) infection worse.

We're going through a very similar situation, again, with an asthmatic granddaughter who was taken to the hospital emergency room just last night- with another severe attack. The one, and will be only, visit she was able to go to with us to the ND, the blood test he had done as a marker reference, showed high blood platelets. Muscle testing showed she had bacterial, viral- and worst of all, fungal infections ALL going on. She highly reacts to any exposure to mold (and feathers). At that time, she had a mother rabbit living inside the house- and the ND had us bring in rabbit hair off of it, and a swab out of it's mouth He found that she was highly allergic to the rabbit...which later had babies that also lived in the house too.

Long story ...Her other grandmother totally freaked out over us taking her to the ND. The mother wouldn't believe what the ND had to say because of Dr's telling them that it was "normal" that she would always have high platelets, and that she would always have infections in the lining of her lungs because the lining was scarred and thick from the asthma--but "she would outgrow the asthma attacks". So, nothing was done, in spite of the ND's grave concerns for her...except the breathing treatments (steroids) when she had her asthma attacks.

The other grandma's concern...was that the "stuff the ND was giving her was going to make the chronic yeast infection worse".

They've KNOWN this little girl has had chronic yeast infections for some time. Through out her short life-time, she has been on rounds and rounds of Antibiotics --and, gosh, the infection seems to come right back as soon as the Antibiotics are done. Has anyone ever thought to check to see if the infections she chronically has in the lining of her lungs COULD POSSIBLY BE FUNGAL INFECTIONS? Made worse by the antibiotics? Never.

So, while this little girl suffers, once again, she ends up in the emergency room. Once again they give her potent steroids, and once again they put her on antibiotics because "she's got infection in the lining of her lungs"...and "she'll just always have high platelets".

It takes a whole different strategy to kill fungal/mold/yeast infections, and especially when they become systemic. There is plenty of information out there about how often Dr's have mistakenly thought a patient had cancer- that turned out to be a fungal infection.

Mold from your house may have been the original source of your husbands fungal exposure, and is serious, Quinta's right...antibiotics only add to the problem; common foods people are not aware of that have mold spores also keep it going. Grains, corn, and peanuts are some of the worst. You can read reports from the USDA talking about the molds known to be in them.

Lyme's disease is also a parasite.

The ND daring to mention the word "parasite" as for what he suspected was going on in the lungs of the granddaughter- caused a tidal wave with the other grandmother. "How DARE he say such a thing! How ridiculous! Don't ever take her back to him again!" And, he did mean actual parasites too (besides the infections).

Little does she have a clue--the "chronic yeast infection" she was so worried about that she thought the homeopathics/herbs were going to cause problems with---and (come to find out) the Lyme's disease she herself was diagnosed with and went through intense Antibiotic treatment for 10 years ago-- ARE parasites.

Your husband never will get better living in a sick house, Quinta's right.
I'd be looking for an ND who has knowledge about treating fungal infections. It takes alot of effort to get it cleaned up, but having some understanding about it, important. You could go for years trying to find it through MD's, unless you can find one that will work with you and listen to you that it is a valid concern.

I know, I'm on a "rant", but it's hitting too close to home right now. There is no reasoning with the adults who have their minds made up that only Dr's know anything, and continue to put the poor kid in their hands. Beck refers to it as the "Doctor/Priesthood". He also talks about the large percentage of people that will not want to hear that the alternative methods work.

BTW.."she should be fine now, the Dr upped the dosage of her breathing treatment (steroids)"..and has her on antibiotics again." until the next episode, and it's off to the emergency room again. Wonder how old she's supposed to be when she finally outgrows it...if her heart doesn't race itself to death by then, or if the "normally" high platelets don't cause clots first. The damage to the lungs continues.

One poster already mentioned an adrenal saliva test. Do it. It is a quick, easy, and relatively cheap way test for adrenal fatique. Check the "Canary Club" website.

You can go nuts trying this and that. If the saliva rules out adrenal fatigue, at least you can concentrate on other things.
