So what do you all do for your "natural beauty regime? I thought I would post my own in hopes anyone else out there adds their own as well.
I have made it my hobby to make my own beauty products. I have sensitive skin plus I reason that it doesn't make sense to eat clean when I am slathering Cover Girl all over my face and using sodium Laureth Sulfates on my head and face. So for the past 5 years I have been able to faze out everything unnatural. I use mineral makeup that is bismuth free. Its priced pretty reasonable as well. I order most of it from www. aromoleigh.com or sometimes everyday minerals. Since they don't sell mascara I buy mine at Whole Foods. I wish I could forego the mascara but I have very light lashes and mascara makes me feel dressed up. (sigh)
Allot of the herbs/oils I use I order at Mountain Rose Herbs. I also make my own masks and the are WAY better than anything I can buy at the store. A favorite one I make is 1 part Indian Healing Clay and I part red clay and 1/2 part neem powder and 1/2 part Tutsi powder. I then use plain water or rose water or half water/ vinegar if my skin is extra oily. Now this mask is great about sucking out all the clogged nastiest in the pores. My face is very red afterward but after about 10 minutes it settles into a nice glow and it feels so smooth. Raw honey is amazing as well!

I know its just as important what we put IN as what we put on outside and what we use around the house. When I first ditched the drug/department store brands I was worried would I have the unwashed "natural" look that you sometimes see from people that forgo anything natural. Well I can say after 5 years of doing this I get more compliments on my look than when I was putting on a toxin laden cocktail everyday. I encourage everyone to be their own beauty product developer, after all YOU can control the ingredients! Hope this helps.

Im a true redhead but have almost non-existant blonde eyelashes,dont get me wrong there super long and healthy but just soo blonde. Putting on mascara gives me a face! Plus with the fair skin, heavy makeup looks terrible on me! Ive never worn foundation in my life,ewww.i will be sure to look into these sites thoroughly.
As far as my routine... I cut out all bottled drug store type products. I like Neem oil, Bentonite masks,baking soda&salt for a scrub and coconut oil to moisturize. I use to do egg,lemon,oil masks but there not that neccessary for me. Juicing,oil pulling and all my water keeps my skin more hydrated then ive ever seen in my life!

This is a reply to # 1,396,945LOL-your just like me! When I wear mascara my eyelashes look long and without it they just look well nonexistant.
Let me tell you the products at Aromaleigh last forever and look good are ALL natural(unless you use their "rocks" line) and cost less than the drugstore stuff if you compare them by how long they last. You can send/post a pic and they will help you pick out face powders. I use their lightest. If you buy the brushes by from "everyday minerals" as they are just as good but half the cost. Don't use drug store brushes as they don't spread the minerals right. You have to use a VERY light hand with mineral powder or you can look"weird". I use the pure cover(its like a base) and the glissade for a smooth glowy look. Everyone always tells me how lucky I am to not have to wear foundation and I have such clear skin. All I can do is think, "Oh I love natural cosmetics!" (now I should get a discount for that from the company! LOL)
I love coconut oil and salt and baking soda. It works better than when I used the foaming face stuff. I like your mask combo's as they really make a difference.
Juicing is also the BEST for skin!

Many people also like their cosmetic/skin care. I wear very, very thick black frame glasses, so that's my excuse for not wearing make-up (other than lip tint) on a day-to-day basis, so I can't comment on their cosmetics.
For household cleaners, I found baking soda indispensable. I also use it to brush my teeth after my oil pulling morning ritual.
I pretty much ditched all my synthetic household cleaners with the only exception of dishwasher detergent. The natural detergents simply don't work. If anyone know a good brand, or a good concoction, please let me know. I now do most of my dishes by hand and use the dishwasher only as a rinser (w/o any detergent). I use detergent (regular) only to wash big items like the dish rack, the humidifier, brushes, etc... once in a while.

This is a reply to # 1,397,040Costco has a wonderful, all natural, eco friendly powdered dishwashing detergent under their house brand which is Kirkland. it is very reasonable also, $5. Here is my recipe and our dishes come out shiny clean! I take a bucket (usually an old bucket from my coconut oil from tropical traditions) and i mix 50% Kirklands natural dishwashing detergent with 50% Borax ($3 box).......it lasts forever and yields fantastic results! i put vinegar into the rinse cycle instead of chemical laden Jet dry....WALA! squeaky clean and shiny dishes!

I am seeking a liquid foundation with extra coverage as i tend to break out and scar during all the detox. if you can recommend a good foundation with extra coverage i'd really appreciate it. The mineral powders don't cut it for me......thank you.

It contains no phosphate or chlorine, but sodium tetraborate decahydrate (???). Not sure how "natural" that is?

This is a reply to # 1,397,744yes, Costco also has an excellent laundry detergent and i also add 1/2 cup of borax for super whites and brightened colors. even if i have a stain i can soak it over night or for a few hours and it will come out.
before costco started carrying these brands and yes, i always took the time to fill out a slip and request them because i knew they would beat out the competitions price. :)
I would get the METHOD brands from Target.
No the Borax isn't from Costco I get it at Walmart or any grocery store.
Borax has many uses so does the arm and hammer washing soda just check the boxes for the uses. - 20 Mule Team Borax...Re: Ding..Ding.... unyquity

This is a reply to # 1,397,744I'm almost POSITIVE that 20 Mule Team Borax is on our 'safe list'!
It's used internally to detox from fluoride...and I personally know a gal that had extreme chronic fatigue and put 1/8 teaspoon of it in a liter of water every day for 2-3 weeks, and had amazing results.
I honestly do NOT know or understand the 'science' behind the whole fluoride/detox phenomena (which you can read here): http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/borax.html
And of course, using an isolated chemical internally is not without it's concerns (but virtually ANYTHING is better than fluoride poisoning). It seems to me to very safe for cleaning purposes.
...just my 2 cents :)

This is a reply to # 1,398,062She recommended 20 Mule Team Borax as laundry detergent in The Cure For All Diseases . Although I'm not a huge Clark fan, she's got a phenomenal "environmental clean up" list/chapter that's hard to beat.

This is a reply to # 1,397,744yes, i get my all natural eco friendly laundry detergent from Costco also but it's not in the pharmacy it's where the detergents are and it's their house brand Kirkland. It's liquid though so i don't pre mix them just add a little less of the soap and add 1/2 cup of borax...

This is a reply to # 1,397,167There's one breathable foundation that I use as a concealer for occasional break-outs. It's called Dermacia, it's not an organic, natural product. It's just for sensitive skin. It's recommended by dermatologist for post-op coverage. It's got very good coverage, good for spot application. I personally think it's too much for all over the face; unless you have dry skin? Give it a shot, let me know if you like it.

the janet sartin i used to use i discovered has a chemical in it that is carcinogenic...it had excellent coverage but there's no sense in me doing all of this detox and then deliberately and knowingly putting the toxins back in.....
it's probably going to take a long time to find...especially since i live in a rural area...and it's hard to choose the right color or texture online...

And what ingredients should not be there?
I have to use mascara too 'cose of light eyelashes but I've never read anywhere bad things about mascara except for allergic reaction one might have.

This is a reply to # 1,396,938I too am very concerned about what I put on my body, as well as in my body. I use a Montmorillonite healing clay called Nevalite for a lot of things. I make a mask out of it and I also take it internally. Plus, I have begun using 100% pure Aloe Vera for so many things! I use it as a underarm deoderant and then when it dries, I put baking soda on, and then more Nevalite. I also use Aloe Vera instead of lotion on my face and my "cellulite areas" and I swear... it smooths out all the wrinkles!!!
