No, it doesn't. As i've said before i've used it as a facial scrub. It is superfine, even though the particles are sharp. Silica is in vegetables too, it is sort of a fibre i think, not absolutely certain about that.
Silica is what gives insoluble fibers their stiffness.
As I've said on other posts, I have a large amount of D.E. and use it on and in my goats, dog, cats, cockatiels, chickens, ducks ... I sprinkle it on my carpets to kill bugs and fleas. I take it internally both 'kicked back' [dumped into the water, stirred and drank quickly] and from a jug of 'silica water'.
I will take it always because a constant gentle cleansing out is a good thing! Which reminds me, I need to put some in the animal water buckets to try to kill the algae trying to grow there.
I doubt if it will kill algae. It was once an algae itself. Try a little peroxide in the water instead.
We actually have two kiddie pools together and it's still getting bent up and warped from the tipping and cleaning once a week. Think next spring we're gonna buy a small pond kit with a fountain. Boy the stuff we buy for our animals! HA.
Unless the ducks can ice skate I don't think they'll get much use out of the pool this winter!
Hey, love your nick!!
