I just stuck mine about 1/4 inch
in to the soil. The sprouted in a few weeks. But there are a lot of seeds in every berry and they develop extensive root systems so you have to thin them out.
Later I transplanted them in to a row. My biggest plants area about a foot tall and they have been growing for about 8 months. I think it takes a couple of years to fruit. But you can probably get them to fruit with gibberelic acid and plenty of phosphorus for root development and flowering.
