I did my first Liver Flush one week ago. On the first day, I got the small pea sized green "stones" that were soft, and someone told me they were probably 'cholesterol stones.'
The rest of the week I felt - okish. I did feel like I had "thrown my mid back out" around Thursday or Friday of this week, and wondered if that were my liver. Yesterday, I took a longish bike ride (I had been recovering from a bike accident and yesterday was my first ride in six weeks). I had to stop several times during the ride because my LOWER back was hurting! I began to think I was getting a kidney infection (again-- I did a kidney cleanse with my nutritionist's recipe, similar to one i foudn here, back in September)
Then this morning i noticed what appeared to be a couple dozen larger, marble sized stones, plus a couple that were nearly the size of ping pong balls!! I cut one open and it had what looked like tiny, squarish white crystals inside, but it wasn't really hard (although it was much harder than the stool that also came out).
I have been drinking warm water and lemon juice each morning with cayenne. I am not doing the "master clease" but just drink that once in a while for good health, ever since i read about it in Fat Flush book (louise gettleson). I decided to drink it all week as aftercare for the liver flush.
Is it normal to still be flushing large stones a week later, even though i have not done the OO/lemon concoction, and never did use the Epsom Salts ?

OH - PS - I did try to do a one day Water Fast yesterday, but only made it to 8 pm, when i ate a grapefrut, followed an hour later by peanut butter sandwich and a bit of ice cream - i know, bad! Would this contribute to forcing out stones?- Re: First FLush - still going a week... southern belle

What a story.
As another poster put it, it sounds like you got the motherlode!
I would think the fat content in the ice cream contributed somewhat to more stones leaving.
But, regardless, congratulations on a wonderful flush. I bet you feel great.

Actually I don't feel any different, except maybe a little brighter outlook! I still have some pain in my mid back, which makes me wonder if there arent' a few big stones still waiting to pop out!!
I drank tons of water yesterday, so maybe that combined with the other things I mentioned popped them out!
I have been having facial Acne breakouts all week, so I am thinking my whole system is detoxing from the initial liver cleanse... also had terrible skin itching for several days, which I know is another sign of detoxing!
I don't want to OVERdetox - I read somewhere that something like 60-70% of healthy people, and 80-90% of ill people, would DIE from detox complications if they had to detox all at once (say, a 20 day fast or something). INteresting, isn't it... all the crap our body has figured out a way to store and not let it totally poison us... would poison us if released all at once! Our bodies are more clever than we give them credit for...
Anyway would love to hear other thoughts!

This is a reply to # 156,127Dude, I was a really sick puppy before I did the master cleanse.. which is essentially a juice fast. I was REALLY toxic, and my health improved dramatically. I didn't die from fasting, so I'm living proof that your 1st stament is wrong & 2nd statment is right: that the body is resilient. :) The reason people die from detoxing is because they don't ELIMINATE the toxins quickly enough through SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) or enemas. They die from reabsorbtion. If ya' know what you're doing then things go smoothly.
PS ~ from your other post, I understand you didn't do the Epsom Salts at all? The ES relax the bile ducts so the stones can come out. You're having ongoing pain because your stones are stuck. The ES are necessary to relax the ducts & let the stones out. IF you skip them, stones will get stuck, you will have pain, you will pass stones a week later as they finally {over a painfull period of time} make it out the duct. If you're still in pain take some ES and you should feel better & prob pass more stones. Good luck keep us posted! :)- Re: First FLush - still going a week... SunnyDisposition

What i said was that I'd READ that a fast of 20-40 days could be fatal to those who highly toxic. The Master Cleanse is ten days. Different animal, my friend.
Let's not accuse each other of being "WRONG" without reading the post thoroughly.
Below is the actual piece I read, which I went back and looked for:

She may have been wrong about the fasting stuff, but she's not wrong about the Epsom Salts . If you don't relax the ducts with the Epsom Salts , then you will probably experience pain upon flushing. I've also heard that magnesium citrate will relax the ducts as well, but I can't confirm. As I have gall bladder pain, I can say that the Epsom Salts are the only thing that help me when I've had an attack. I know they work.

i didn't say she was wrong -- in fact, i suggested that in general it is nice to refrain from calling people "wrong"
what works for one person will not necessarily work for someone else. the Liver Flush i did was from instructions received elsewhere. i also have other health concerns which make taking large doses of any type of salt inadvisable

It does sound like you have a stone stuck if you're still in pain. Try the magnesium citrate. That may help relax the duct enough. It's unfortunate when people try to help their health through a cleanse and things get worse. You DO need to get the stone unstuck. It can make you quite ill otherwise. As I'm sure you're experiencing. Some other posters said massage helps too, like from an electric back massager unit. I do hope you get better. :)

Your comment about relaxing the ducts, and your gall bladder pain caught my eye. My husband is suffering from severe gall bladder pain. The past 5 days he has been on a distilled water fast, then a juice fast and tomorrow will start eating a few meals of raw veggies ( beets and uncooked applesauce).We have been tempted to try the flush but are concerned because of the possibility of the stones getting stuck in a duct. He was originally diagnosed w/ stones over 11 years ago. The Dr.s of course want to remove the gall bladder. I think it's beyond diet and supplements at this point. We are just worried that the stones ( because of the size and the lentgth of time of this problem) will become lodged in the ducts and then er surgery will be required. I have heard that there are preliminary steps to take BEFORE the flush to help break up the stones a bit. Do you have suggestions ?

My main point was that _toxic me_ didn't die from fasting & that not properly eliminating is the major cause of dying while fasting. Sorry, I don't rememeber where I read that & I don't want to look.

If you didnt use salts with the Liver-Flush then the stones didnt get flushed out of the digestive track the next morning. They eventually worked their way out with regular bowel movements. Your asking for trouble if you do the Liver-Flush without salts to relax the bile ducts. I would suggest drinking large amounts of fresh AJ to shrink the stones for a week before doing a flush without salts.That might be why you had back pain. Fasting is something that you should learn slowly and always take great effort in helping the body eliminate toxins. Drink alot of fluid,sweating,SWF,hot baths,saunas,deep breathing,expose skin to air,skin brushing,etc.. - Re: First FLush - still going a week... medusa

This is a reply to # 156,124if you didn';t use the psom salt you experience pain...as well as loose some regulation of the results from the flush..the epsom prompts it out quicker than mother nature....
