Hi again :o)
I am 51 years old and 11 months....prime time for being peri-menopausal. In my opinion/ in retrospect, I reckon my candida got kick started in 97 after a 9 day severe bout of some kind of food poisoning where I did not vomit, as since then very occasionally, my BM is runny and I had little mishaps in my knickers. I have just put up with that as you do. But, the last 5 years its got worse and more frequent, culminating in bronchitis end of 2008 which took 3 lots of anti-biotics to get rid. I think this just tipped the balance in favour of the candida. For me I think developing candida has been a slow gradual process, not helped by my lifelong insane appetite for sweets/candies and chocolate and with the 3 lots of Anti-biotics in 08, it all became too much for my poor body.
In fact, the other day I was looking in my medicine cabinet, I found a load of products for thrush treatment...I had completly forgotten that it used to flare up now and then, again over the last 5 years.
I do suffer from cold legs, sometimes only the soles of my feet, which feels quite weird, and cold hands. Cold hands is something I have had all my life...goodness knows why I ride motorcycles, guaranteed to make your hands cold lol.
Anyway, I have been taking the
Iodine for about 2 weeks now, and I would say there is some improvement, certainly I dont feel quite as 'chilled' as I sometimes did. I remember last summer it hit 40c here...about 109f and I was sat outside shivering! Ridiculous! Again that was before I realised I had Candida.
Up to recently I avoided the thyroid thing as I have read people put on weight, but I have always been thin, so I did not think it applied to me.
I am just wondering, my liver is feeling very good these days, so maybe its functioning better, so perhaps my body is using my skin as a way of getting rid of some toxins? Just a thought/idea.
This week I have started taking some 'Motherwort' tincture I made last year which is supposed the help with hot flashes. Also I make tea with Red clover, which also supposed to help. I tried sage oil, only a drop or 2, diluted of course, massaged into my skin around the womb area, but the smell made me gag, it overpowered me. So I stopped that.
I think different things work for different people.
Jhan, I dont take asprin or any pain killers. I used to eat ibuprofen like sweets before I realised I had Candida as it really settled my intestines and stopped my knees and shoulders aching and throbbing....worst thing I could of done...in hindsight. What painkillers ARE safe with Candida? Do you know?
