I ordered several bottles of Coconut Kefir through Amazon (by Body Ecology). Ever since I started taking it I've been extremely bloated and have a lot of gas.
That would be from fermentation of sugars still in the product.
I'm concerned that in the shipping it affected the formula. As soon as I received it I put it in the refrigerator and let it sit for 3 weeks. I have 5 bottles left and they were EXPENSIVE so I'd hate to discard them. Will leaving them out help at all? I'm taking 6-8 oz at night and 6-8 oz first thing in the morning. I'm taking my herbs 30 minutes after the kefir in the AM and food 60 minutes after the kefir. At night, I take the kefir about an hour and a half after eating.
I looked it up and they add honey to the product and it contains a gram of sugar per 2 ounces of beverage.
In the future, I'll be making my own kefir...
Sounds like a great idea.
