is it really ture that yogourmet WITH bifidus is no good?
<<
Not that it's no good, it makes great yogurt but it isn't legal...the probiotics change the PH of the milk to fast and the real yogurt bacteria die out too soon...
so to make true scd yogurt, no yogurt with bifidus can be used as the starter... so says my finger anyway. crap. just bought some organic stonyfield which otherwise tests good... but didn't check that...
busted me twice. damn. this yogurt thing is not easy. will have to head to whole foods and find a better brand... if any one has any rec's, I am all ears....
(edit) well not so bad afterall, just 1% milk fat added... with dreaded vit d as well...
You cannot remove all lactose with probiotics due to the PH change...
If you use anything like milk powder or probiotics or whatever you end up with 8 hr yogurt and 8 hr yogurt is not legal due to the damage it may cause to the intestinal track ala Breaking the Vicious Cycle... http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/legal/legal_illegal_a-c.htm
now i know what the legal stands for in legal yogurt.
well i gave a try to the yogotherm starter cause that's what i had... this will have to do for now until i get the yogourmet!
also i just gave you the full rights so now you can change any settings you like! im on vacation right now for some weeks so i wont be updating pages for a while... anyhow i dont feel fully qualified yet
