There's also a novel, "iodine", have not read. But I'll bet that both the movie and the book(don't know if they are related) took the name "iodine" because of archaic associations, caustic, skull and crossbones, poison, ya know?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,659,389I think you're right. That one word is catchy and stingy--a good hook to get people's attention. I gather the movie went straight to DVD and that it was never distributed to theatres.

While on the search for a missing man, John and Avery engage in deep philosophical and metaphysical discussions about a project the two grown men had allegedly been working on, a means to discover the nature of everything. Also, some discussions arise regarding a potential nuclear holocaust and how the ingestion of iodine ampoules may ward off side effects.
