Yes you may be right. There are certainly pros and cons of low carb diet. Although I don't have the info handy, I'm pretty sure some scientist showed that denying Candida carbs encourages it to go hyphal.
I'm certain it is wise to avoid
Sugar and overly processed carbs. Going beyond that is a bit of a grey area. I think going very low carb for a long time without an effective antifungal regime is probably counterproductive. I think it is an individual thing though. If eating things like rice, quinoa, fruit etc causes bloating, then maybe you need to be stricter, but if a few healthy sources of carbs can be tolerated, then probably best to eat them (in moderation). Like I said, it's a grey area.
I doubt anyone got candidiasis from
Sugar alone. I think someone with good bacteria and healthy immune system can live on icecream, coke and candy bars without getting candidiasis. Inability to handle
Sugar without getting candidiasis is a sign you have an underlying health problem.
