The subject earlier about correct spelling and punctuation reminded me of something I was a part of years ago.
You know by now that I do like to have fun. A lifelong friend was an English teacher in high school. We did keep in touch now and then. Sometimes we were several states apart and communicated by mail. Sometimes I would be in a "needing to have fun mood". I would write an entire letter spelling words like they sounded, not as they were correctly spelled. And use whatever punctuation I felt like using or not at all. I even wrote some letters with no paragraph indentions, capitalizations or punctuations. I was simply trying to have fun with a "Felix Unger" (from THE ODD COUPLE) type. He normally hated anything out of order.
He told me years later that he would take my letters to school and make copies for his students to show them how NOT TO WRITE, and how frustrating it can be to the reader.
I still thought it was funny even though the joke was on me.
