Yesterday when I got to work my order from Earthing.com had already been delivered. Of course the first thing I did was take the box to my office and open it lol! I plugged in the floor mat, put my bare feet on it and started grounding right away, I also put on the flip flops each time I left my office. My office is carpeted but the rest of the building is concrete so whenever I walked out of my office I was grounded.
As soon as I got home I plugged in the mat so that most of the night before I went to bed I was grounded. I was so excited to get to bed last night but the trouble with that was that I wasn't in the least bit tired or sleepy. I don't do well in the summer at all, it is my least favorite time of year due to the heat. On top of that, the air conditioner in my car went out (have to have the compressor and everything replaced) and I couldn't get an appointment until Monday! It has been between 94 and 96 every single day this week. The heat just takes the life out of me so when I get home around 5/5:30 I'm just worn out and not good for much lol! Most nights I'll stretch out on the sofa and conk out out of sheer exhaustion. But not last night!
When I got home last night I was so energized, I can't even explain the difference in how I felt. No yawning, not sleepy at all, just feeling fantastic! The only thing I did that was different from my normal routine was that I had grounded all day long! Yesterday work was more stressful than most days and later last night I realized that I hadn't even taken any Ashwagandha except for 4 droppersful before I left for work. My job has been very stressful from the beginning and Ashwagandha has been a lifesaver in that regard! I keep a bottle on my desk and usually take 4 to 6 droppersful several times a day, but yesterday under even more stressful circumstances than usual, I didn't even think about taking it! Now the only reason I can come up with, is because I was grounded! How FANTASTIC is that? Pretty frigging AMAZING I say!!!
I tried to stay up until I was sleepy but that just wasn't happening last night lol so I decided I'd go to bed and try out that sheet. One thing I want to mention is that just about 20 minutes before I went to bed I drank almost a 1/2 gallon of water, I just couldn't seem to quench my thirst. Not a good idea to do that right before going to bed lol! I'm wondering if the grounding had started doing something in my body that made me that thirsty, like getting rid of imflammation or thinning my blood or something. I usually only have a thirst I can't quench when I eat biscuits and gravy, nothing else has ever made me feel that thirsty. BTW, I don't eat biscuits and gravy very often because it's bad bad bad for me lol!
Every night I have a really hard time going to sleep and I wake up several times a night. Since I drank a 1/2 gallon of water right before bed, I was up and down for a couple of hours going to the bathroom while I was reading. When I felt like I was rid of all that water, I turned out the light, went right to sleep and didn't wake up until 7:30 this morning. Wow, that is the first night in a long time I slept through the night without waking up! I'm here to tell everyone that we all need to get grounded everyday and all night long! The difference in how I felt today was night and day to how I usually feel. I have so much energy and that is just from one day and one night of grounding/earthing. I can only imagine what a great testimony I'm going to have after weeks/months of sleeping grounded. Folks, this sheet is worth saving your pennies for, the benefits are far reaching on many different levels. We all know that barefooting at least 15-30 minutes a day is a must but I have learned there is so much more to it than grounding out that static electricity we accumulate in our bodies. Please, everyone read all about earthing on this website www.earthing.com/ and get the book and see what we've all been missing!!!
I can't say enough about what a difference just one night on that sheet has made in me!

This is a reply to # 1,819,901I just want to confirm Willowley's statements about her energy levels after grounding all day.
Since she's become a forum moderator, we have grown closer as friends...and we girls chat quite often. She is dealing with very high temperatures and her voice sounds tired & exhausted when the temperatures raise (and/or when she's had a high stress day at work). And of course, neither one of us are youngsters (although neither of us are anywhere close to 'old & decrepit'! lol).
When she called after being grounded all day, the change in her voice was TRULY amazing! It wasn't anything like a chemical stimulant, it was more like I was talking to the same Willowley that was 30 years younger. One of the first things I asked her was "are you having cool weather today?". She say "No, it was hotter than ever".
Her voice was "crisp", "vibrant" and full of natural/healthy energy. Honestly, I've never heard her sound that energized...ever. But I'm sure I've never heard anything even remotely similar on a very hot Friday (after a long week at work) and a high-stress day.
There's simply no doubt after reading the Earthing Book that what Willowley has reported is extremely possible...after talking with her, there's no doubt that what she has reported is extremely valid! :)
I can hardly wait to get my bed sheet/pad!!!! (which is supposed to be here by Friday).

I agree! But last week was the closest I've ever felt to being 'old & decrepit' lol! I mean that with all sincerity and I've always felt and acted much younger than my age but I was really feeling my age last week! Not so anymore due to grounding/earthing!!!!!
One more thing I forgot to mention in my post below that I noticed after the second night is that I'm not retaining water (swelling) like I usually do in the hot weather and that is fantastic! I guess that has to do with the inflammation the grounding takes away? I can't wait to see what other GREAT benefits I'll get as time goes by!!

This is a reply to # 1,819,901Great post Willow!! I can't top that :) Last night was my second night with the sheet. First off let me say I suffer from horrible insomnia. Have for years. I've tried almost every natural remedy out there. Sometimes some work to some degree but still would never get a real deep and long sleep. Plus it always took a long time to finally drift off. I've never taken a pharm sleeping pill and never will.
So after sleeping on this sheet for 2 nights the results are just amazing. I fell asleep in a reasonable amount of time and stayed asleep most of the night. Woke up feeling energized like you said. You know now that you mention the dreams, I had one last night that I actually remembered and it was very vivid too!
Isn't it great to be able to actually fall asleep and sleep through the night and wake up feeling energetic? That is a new feeling for me lol, but I sure am happy about it! I didn't drink a lot of water last night before I went to bed so I didn't have to keep getting up to go to the bathroom lol and I think I was asleep in under 10 minutes. For me that is the worlds record! I usually do back and forth, read, try to go to sleep, can't, get up and read some more. I usually go through several rounds of this before I'm actually able to go to sleep! People with insomnia definitely need this sheet!
One thing I forgot to mention about the pad. I keep my bare feet on it while I'm on the computer and the strangest thing happens. Last week I got a new MacBook Pro, the case is all aluminum, when my feet are on the mat and I touch the laptop, it vibrates. It feels really strange, doesn't shock me or anything it just vibrates. When I take my feet off the mat and touch the laptop it does not vibrate so it has to be the grounding. At least I never have to test the pad to make sure it's working lol, all I have to do is touch the laptop to test it ;-)
One more thing I want to report is that my shoulders were so tight that it hurt me. The first night I slept on the sheet I didn't feel any difference in the pain in my shoulders but after last night (2nd night) I got up this morning and the pain in my shoulders is about 50% less than normal. Usually I have to watch how I move my arms and turn my head, but now I don't YAY!!! This earthing/grounding is just the bomb!!!!
If you notice anymore benefits from sleeping on the sheet, please keep us posted and I'll do the same. I think you should get the mat too, the sooner the better lol!

They've got a special going on right how where you get the sheet and the mat for only $20 more than ordering just the sheet. That means you get the mat for $20 and I think it is usually $59.95, they used to be $79.95 each but now they've got a special where you can get 2 mats for $79.95.
These grounding tools are worth every darn penny and then some for sure!!!

This is a reply to # 1,819,901I've read over most of the posts about these grounding sheets and pads. I can see we need to do this.
I see they sell a Queen-size, fitted sheet, but it looks as if the regular sheet that you put towards the center of lower part of the bed (below your legs) is all you need.
Is that true? Looks like this is the sheet that comes with the package deal.
A more esoteric question. Why do silver threads give the good result, when ferrous metal probably wouldn't (electric blanket syndrome), and copper, brass, aluminum might not. What's the deal here?- Re: Question Re: Grounding/Earthing ... josephr525

Yes, it seems as if the strip of sheet they call the bed pad that you put on the lower half of the bed is all a body would need, that's what I've got. Judging by the results I've already seen from sleeping on the bed pad, it works fantastic. I feel that I would be more comfortable with the whole fitted sheet, not because I think it would work better, I'd just be more comfortable with it. I think it really is a matter of preference.
The package deal with the 36" x 120" bed pad and the floor mat comes with all the testers and connectors you'd need. It is a GREAT deal to be sure.
I can't correctly answer your question about the different metals but I would imagine they use silver because it might be cheaper.

I can't get this right away, but I understand how it can work, so I'm convinced.
I'll need grounding for two computer stations as well. The flip flops also sound useful.
I know we're bombarded with all kinds of offers for stuff we don't really need, but if this grounding works as you say it does. We need it :-)

This is a reply to # 1,819,901Got my starter kit yesterday (who wouldn't with such a rave review from Willowley!) and I didn't get quite the zap on the first night (although I didn't ground all day like she did). I did take a bit longer to fall asleep since there was a little bit of energy flying around that kept me up. Today I placed my "foot mat" on the chair in my office and just sat on it most of the day since it seemed really unnatural for me to keep my feet on the mat on the floor at all times. Maybe it's cos I have short legs, maybe it's cos I like to tuck one or both legs under me as I type--but it just seemed easier to sit on it. Hopefully that's not a problem...didn't see anything on it in the book or start up instructions.
But the book is wonderful and I read that earthing works synergistically with bioidentical hormone treaments, which I just started about a week ago.
Can't wait to see how I feel in a couple months :-)

It actually worried me (I was sure there must be something wrong! lol). I didn't make the connection with the colon cleanse until I learned more.

I have actually done several colon cleanses, colonics, Liver Flushes and various organ and system cleanses and detoxes as well as various protocols like ozone saunas & insufflations (have my own ozone generator), as well as months of Rife treatments and many other therapies that have been helpful to various degrees.
I understand that bioidentical hormone therapy is well regarded in some circles and not so much in others--I only mentioned it because the Earthing book stated that Earthing was a great adjunct.
I have only started the bioidentical hormone therapy just recently (on advice of a naturopathic doc) so can't say that I am convinced one way or the other about whether it will have a permanent place in my regimen. But I have already tried many other things like Maca, B.Cohosh, etc. and scores of other "female herbs" for years, and have not seen the results I was hoping for. I worked for about 10 years in the mutual fund industry (super high stress) before stepping into media ministry and ghostwriting. My adrenals (which I had trashed during those years) have made a slow but steady recovery over the past couple decades but I am still far from vibrant. I do pretty much everything I know to do--from rebounding & dry brushing to regular antifungal/ parasite herb rotations while increasing the fermented foods like raw sauerkraut and atchara (in addition to all the proper unprocessed oils, greens/veggie juicing & proteolytic enzymes to break down biofilms). I buy local/organic whenever possible (good options here in TX) and get my water from an artesian spring about an hour away that has fantastic pH and sediment levels (it was a private underground 40 sq mile artesian spring deeded to the Canton municipality with stipulations that they must keep it free to the public but we get the benefit of monthly testing). Sorry for going on, but I did want you to know that it's not that I have just begun this healing journey. I love many of Uny's products and share them with others whenever I can.
For the most part, I do believe that the best answers are often the simplest, but the hormone area is one that seems to have been especially troublesome for me.
One thing the hormone doc said was that although I was a good candidate for the therapy she was surprised and impressed to see my free T3 levels so much higher than most women in my situation (post menopausal at 48--I'm 50 now). I told her I was sure it was the Iodine I take regularly.
Anyway, all that to say that I am not unwilling to look further, but I believe I have done quite a bit of research already and the many women I have spoken with who have been on them for many years seem to have nothing but raves for the therapy.

If you are wearing very thin cotton clothing, the mat will also work or ground your body. The flow of the earth's energy or free negative electrons or the healing part of Earthing will flow through very thin clothing, but not silk.

I've read the book and it says that at least some bare skin has to be in contact with the earthing device unless the clothing is somewhat damp which would allow it to be conductive. This is what the FAQ on their Institute says:

A. Sorry, but if you do you will not receive the benefits of Earthing. You want some part of your body to be in direct contact with the grounded sheet: the skin of your body touching the conductive sheet. That's how you absorb the energy from the Earth and how you get the benefits. If you have a grounded half-sheet, put it over your regular bottom sheet. If you have a full-fitted Earthing sheet, that serves as your bottom sheet.
Q. Can I wear pajamas when I sleep on an Earthing sheet?
A. Yes, as long as some bare skin comes in direct contact with the sheet, such as your feet. If some part of your body does not directly contact the sheet, it will require some moisture for the direct current of the Earth to flow through the fabric into your body. For some people this occurs naturally during the night when moisture from the body creates the necessary conductivity. Best, however, is having bare skin contact. Some people have asked if there is any type of pajama fabric that will not work with the sheet. The answer is that the fabric of the pajamas is irrelevant. The only factor that’s important is direct skin contact with the Earthing sheet.
Q. I like to wear socks to bed. Do my bare feet have to touch the Earthing bed sheet?
A. It is best to have your bare feet in contact with the grounded sheet. The Earth’s energy is conducted most optimally via bare skin contact. However, if you must wear socks, try to have some skin — bare legs or another body part — touch the Earthing sheet. You can place the Earthing product in your bed wherever it is most comfortable and effective for you. If you wear socks to bed because of cold feet, you will often find that your feet warm up naturally from improved circulation when you sleep grounded.
Q. Can I wear socks when using an Earthing mat on the floor?
A. Yes, but direct skin contact is best. Feet naturally sweat and will hydrate socks, making the socks somewhat conductive.It would seem to me that if a person had on something made of very thin 100% cotton and it got damp, you might very well be somewhat conductive but.... the fact remains that a person won't be getting the full benefit of earthing/grounding unless you have bare skin touching the ground or earthing product.
So, if you've got some kind of evidence, please share it with us.
