Unfortunately, I have no experience with animals and MMS, however when we used it on ourselves(topically), we either soaked the infected area directly in the solution or applied it using a gauze with tape(to hold it).

PS. I got a nasty cat bite from a feral cat which we tried to rescue from a drain pipe which resulted in an infection on my index finger which turned black and swollen. I soaked my finger in the 24/1/2 cup solution and by the end of the day, the swelling was gone and wound had dried-up! - To this day, I never knew the body could move(heal) so quickly and if I had not seen it myself I likely would have never believed such a claim.
