Hi Anne, have you tried EFT? It's really good good for the ups and downs of anxiety, etc. etc. I felt a bit panicked my first water fast, on day three, if I'm recalling correctly...
That and breathing -- which might sound simplistic to say, but thought/emotions 'ride' the breath.
Try this: seven even breaths in and out, with mouth closed.
Then seven, even and calm, in through the nose, and out through the mouth, then seven in and out through the mouth.
Make these all deep and unforced, but calm, complete breaths.
Just that, will release a lot of pent-up 'acid', which has the effect of creating inner storms. (emotionally)
After the skin, the lungs are the largest organ of elimination. And what we forget sometimes, is they are also receivers of life-breath. Smile inwardly, to your entire self, when you breathe.
Also, skin brushing will help, as you go along. It can be a nice ritual of 'doing something', when you haven't a lot of energy. Before a shower of or bathing is ideal. This should be with natural bristles, in long smooth strokes, from the extremities always toward the heart. Do a curezone search, and a good link should come up on how.
And, well done!--Just your undertaking this, your determination that there is a way through the depression, and so forth--your dedication and focus is going to reward you. Respect!
ah--I just saw what chris wrote. :-)
Re: the EFT--there should be some good links also,on this forum. There are a great number of youtube videos that can take you through the basic tapping sequence. Maybe something to look into, when you find yourself in a period of calm. (then you'll have it in your toolkit, as it were)
