hey everyone. i started taking the typical regimen of Iodine with selinium and vit c. however, this totally increased my hair loss!!! now, even when i take things like celtic Sea Salt ,my hair will start to get itchy and falling out.

and this isn't the typical hair falling out. i can literally feel my individual hairs dying. it feels like a prick on the hair follicle, like an irritation, then i goto grab it and i will have hairs in my hand.

My typical regimen of Iodine was 5-10 drops of Iosol in water. Then I started upping it to 15. I'm pretty sure my hair was falling out at the lower dosage. I thought it was a "detox" or something. I was doing this every morning. I did it for about a month until I stopped when I realized it was seriously accelerating the problem.

the type of selenium I was taking was now foods brand I believe (i don't have the bottle around, I can't locate it). But it was 200 mcg/day with the iodine and it was the active ingredient "selethione" (sorry, i don't remember the spelling, it was long word but i remembered it ended in the "ione" and it was the one typically recommended on these types of sites

Okay, the type of Vitamin C is SOLARAY, two stage timed relase vitamin C 1000MG. I was taking 4 of these per day. it says it has ascorbic acid, rose hips, acerola cherry as ingredients. I just took 4 of them today and my hair started falling out AGAIN and now I'm having shed AGAIN!
At the same time as this, I was taking potent anti fungals. I was taking wormwood, black walnut hull, basil leaf extract, oregeno oil & berberine also. I was taking the anti fungals right after the iodine in the morning, typically on an empty stomach.
Also, I was taking ecklonia cava. Also had R-Lipoic Acid. (these were at differnet times)

YES, now it happens whenever I consume any supplements. It's like everything. I just killed all my supplements at the same and was planning on doing them one by one and adding them. I was off everything for about a week and the itching went down greatly.

I'm VERY skinny. I only weigh like 135 ish/maybe up to 140 and I'm 5 11. My typical diet wasn't that great while on iodine, I was eating gluten here and there. Now, I cleaned it up completely and only eating fruit/vegetables/meat. On this diet the itching went down, but it is still not gone completely.
Like I said, I tried vitamin C and it kicked my hair loss in again. I know NUTS cause my hair loss to get worse also for someone.
I also did an IgG food anti body test in the past and it came back allergic to like everything except fruit, vegetables, and meat. Plus, I took finasteride in the past which completely killed my sex drive which isn't helping. (when i got off propecia my hair loss stopped, now i rekicked it in) That's the whole reason I took iodine. The iodine made me better in the sexua| department as in my penis isn't as numb anymore, but now my hair is falling out like crazy with any supplements I put in my body. This is so depressing.. I feel like if only I knew what the imbalance was I could fix it because obviosuly something is going on here.
Someone told me being allergic to many foods is always a case of low stomach acid. But I have had that for a while. Would taking iodine make this worse possibly? It's like my hair is going everywhere now. I can feel my indivual hairs dying right now since I took VIT C. What the heeeckkkkk? lol. :(
MY next step now is I'm waiting for humviulate (however u spell it) for metal detox. Although, I'm not sure how I'm going to approach this. Probably won't take it with iodine or anything because I don't want to have my hair be completely gone.
I wasn't eating healthy while on Iodine. Could this have been the problem? What does oxidative mean exactly? Even when I swish celtic sea salt in my mouth, I will feel my scalp getting itchty and inflamed and my hair will fall out. When I take sea salt, it will definitely get itchy and fall out.

I had internal bleeding as shown on a stool screening, but this was new because i had one in the past and it was fine. i have to go back and get it tested again because i think it got better from me taking cayenne pepper but it is my understanding you cant take stomach acid with internal bleeding so i need to get that chceked on monday.
i may have taken anti biotics in the past, but i havent done it for a while. i mean, i'm only 23 right now i havent touched anything in the last year at least , probably more. because i know the dangers of these artificial things.
yeah ur definitely spot on about when i eat somethng i get stress. i used to eat food and feel extremely tired to the point where i had to lay down because i was so exhausted. after eating all vegetables and meat i managed to get over this one thank god.

Anything out of the ordinary about each BM. Like, does it take a long time to transit or is it fast? What is the consistency of the stool? Any color differences between each BM, or any strange observations.

Leaky gut can produce positive results on fecal occult blood tests due to permeability of the gut wall. The permeability can occur when the wall in compromised for many reasons such as lack of good flora, food reactions (sensitivities), parasites, and bad flora that has taken up residence in a section. I can imagine low or no gut bugs inside the GI as food passes through, an immune reaction occurs, gut wall permeates due to immune response, some blood leaks as well, and you feel tired during this ordeal.

Antibiotics usually screw up flora, forever. Rebuilding is a slow process. What you eat also greatly determines the flora you build.

Iodine is required to produce strong stomach acid.

Yes, definetly out of the ordinary. I took pictures of my stool last night (sorry, but it looked weird but i had to get an opinion on it from the internet) http://imgur.com/NVVT8,w9nch,JVAIC,VcGtI,ndHEH,KZ4lD#0 (its an album i made lol, but yeah.. you will notice it looks a little off). it had mucous in it which is not typical, but it is typical of my stool to be in color blocks like that where half will be one color and the other half will be anouth. plus the shape is not even normal. something is obviously wrong here.
no it usually comes out really fast because i eat a lot of fruit now.
the pictures above were from yesterday, my stool today though looked really weird. it was like a block of green stool like the one above. then it had a block of more red color (i think because i ate pizza yesterday), then it had another block connected, but i forget the color. it's like different color blocks connected together.

it WAS dark. my poop isn't dark anymore. it was like black before thats how i kenw and i went to go get tested. it is not black anymore. it is like how it is above, in different color blocks. im going to try to goto doctor tomorrow morning actually adn get another stool test to see if its still bleeding so i can try to use stomach acid if im not. if not, i need to figure out a way to get my gut fixed. going to be taking glutamine.

interesting information. that is unfortunate. yes, i have taken probiotics for a while. i just bought new ones called imicroflora but i think i got hair itchy from taking it. not sure. i will try some right now actually.

iodine balances hormones. losing hair has always been a possible feature of Iodine supplementation. lots of factors are involved. the loss should be temporary. or maybe youre finally doing what is normal for you under the circumstances of your environment.
your selenium should be selenomethionine only. this could be a copper/zinc imbalance or a copper deficiency due to too much oxidized copper in the body that cant be utilized.

thanks for your post. yes, this is somethign that i have begun to think is also a possiblity. that since my hair stopped falling out because of finasteride, getting back on iodine has put my body back to the way it should be and now i react to things that should make my hair fallout.
however, it still doesn't explain why everything seems to make my hair fallout now including things like sea salt or vitamin C. i was thinking about the copper that you mentioned. for example, something requring VIT C is being taken up. i forget if it takes up copper or not. i read something that takes up copper that i was taking but i forget what it was. hmm.
how do you recommend I go about figuring out what this could be as I agree, it could be so many. like some tests or something.
