I don't see this discussed much on the forums, so I thought I would share. Lugols will INACTIVATE the herpes virus. From what I understand, Lugols was traditionally used to treat most STDs...

Thanks for sharing and I too, have noticed that the herpes cold sore virus is no longer causing my mouth issues.
When ever the virus is active in my mouth, the nerve bundle:
- in the front
- roof of my mouth
- just behind the 2 front teeth, would swell.
A dentist told me about this nerve bundle and when your immune system is down, this bundle swells.
I have been on 50-100mg for 3 months.

thank you so much for posting your report here ! I've always suspected Iodine would cure Herpes.
Did you apply Iodine to the sores too, or did you simply take Lugols internally. How many mg of Iodine did it take to kick out your herpes?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,994,805I just take the Lugols internally. I use the 5% solution, 10 drops a day, which is 62.5 mg of iodine. My feeling is that anything over 50 mg a day is going to really go to work on this nasty virus. I put the drops in organic coffee (the only kind you should drink) along with coconut oil. Perfect concoction!

If you have a cold sore, you can paint it with white Iodine from the drug store, and it will heal much more rapidly. If I had an active cold sore, I would combine this with 100 mg internal daily Lugols for very rapid resolution.- Re: My experience with Lugols and he... grizz

It will be interesting to see if your Herpes is killed off forever, or will it come back again. Herpes has a bad habit of coming back at the worst times.
Maybe it will stay in remission for as long as you are taking iodine?
Can you post your experience with Herpes again next year?
This is a VERY important discovery that you have made. I am so happy for you. Did your DH catch herpes too? Is Iodine helping him as well?

I am a single male, this '7 year itch' was acquired through through some stupid sex. The herpes is definitely staying in remission. Symptoms disappeared about three weeks into the high dose Lugols regime. This was a very severe case, with angular chelitis cracks at the corners of my mouth and debilitating neuralgia in my right foot. Serious stuff, not just cold sores. The interesting thing is that the scarred places on my face began peeling off, with new perfect skin formed underneath. No more disfigurement! The neuralgia in my foot also resolved quite rapidly.Once you have Lugols, life just gets better!Advertisement

This is a reply to # 1,999,654The key to resolving herpes infections is taking gram level doses of potassium iodine. But you have to work up to that using Lugols. 1/4 teaspoon of KI crystals equals 1 gram. Boron also is very effective against herpes and attendant candida. Mix 1/4 teaspoon in a quart or liter of water and drink throughout the day.

This is a reply to # 1,994,792Can you tell me if you remained herpes free? I have been on the 15 to drops a day for 2 weeks now. The virus is more active now than ever so I am worried that this is not working. Actually had a small ob a couple days ago and have not had one in a very long time. I have hsv2 so maybe I should not expect the same results. Have you remained herpes free since you posted about your success? Do you think that this is a cure at some point? Do you ever get the tingles or feeling that the virus is active. I am feeling it every minute of every day and it is driving me crazy. I cannot sit or lay still because of it. What are your thoughts on this. How much longer should I stick this out. I just believe that this virus cannot be removed. I really pissed it off with the Iodine as I had an ob but would think that it was running away from the iodine. You would think that if it has not done it by now then I should not expect it to be able to kill the virus off. I have done everything in my power to kill this thing over the last 5 years and nothing. It is worse now than ever.Advertisement

I am not the OP, but I have a very close friend that has HSV2 and had success treating their condition this way. They took an entire dropper of Lugol's solution (5% from ebay seller the_full_orchestra) in their coffee everyday for 3-4 months and never had an OB the entire time. They discontinued treatment and did have another OB maybe 6 or so months after discontinuing treatment and is back on it again, so who knows if the Iodine really helped anything or if it was just luck, but up until they started taking Iodine they were having OBs very consistently. Came across your post because I was so intrigued by their success and wanted to see what else Iodine might be capable of healing and thought I'd offer my knowledge of treating your condition with iodine. Hi, I'm doing research and noticed nobody replied to you. Some of the Lugols sellers specifically stipulate that their solution is made with MINED ingredients and are not from shellfish derivatives. It you bought one of the non-mined varities, the arginine level would have most definitely given you a flare. Foods high in the amino acid arginine are a no-no. The Risingsun Nutritional Corp sells the MINED variety of Lugols. Hope this helps. This is a reply to # 2,124,530That is because it may increase nitrous Oxide, take Lysine it could help. Cut down on the Iodine also, you may be overdoing it. Don't eat arginine-rich foods.
