Activated charcoal: grains or powder...

Hi to all,
While shopping at my health food store today, I noticed a different brand of activated charcoal, that comes in little grains rather than in powder form. I've used charcoal a lot in the past, and always used the powder.
Now, the weird thing is: the charcoal grains (that have twice the adsorption power of the powder according to the label: 2000m²/gr to 1000m²/g for the powder), are also cheaper! I don't get it. After searching online, I came across conflicting information: some say the grains are more potent, some say the opposite.
So I'm wondering if any of you have some knowledge about this form of activated charcoal, especially Uny, our activated charcoal specialist :) .

MoreThis is a reply to # 2,068,116Different brands, types of wood/shell used, various heat, methods of production...all have an effect on the absorbtive qualities - whether it's in the form of tree stumps, blocks, chunks, granules or powder.
What's going to draw more toxins to itself - a bazillion tiny
particles spread throughout maximum area, or hundreds of granules in less area (that may pull stronger than the particles)?
Therein lies the technical answer.
All of the healers that actually used charcoal (of which I have read), always used & recommended powder (not encapsulized powder).
Therein lies the best healing (imo).
Of course, I haven't read every record, book, journal, excerpt, tablet (and cave drawing?) written by every healer throughout the centuries that have used charcoal.
