I got my horse meds all lined up - pyrantel pamoate, equimax, and 100mg tablets of vermazol (mebendzole)
The pyrantel is 1.8g per tablet. I'm going to cut it in half and do one each night.
Starting with the pyrantel because it is supposedly the least toxic. And I'm getting some sort of induced hemorrhoids every time I take certain anti- parasite herbs and foods like cocoa powder, figs, chinese herbs, and cayenne. Strangely though raw garlic does not cause the bleeding.
Should the pyrantel be chewed or taken whole?

This is a reply to # 2,121,738FWIW, not trying to be discouraging, just sharing my experience...I took over-the-counter pyrantel pamoate (Pin-X) in liquid form several times throughout the year and it never had any effect. Mebendazole is the only other thing I have tried, and it works, but only on adults. So 3 months since my last dose, sadly my symptoms have returned. Trying to get albendazole and praziquantel.- Re: veterinary pyrantel .

MoreThis is a reply to # 2,122,034Well it turned out to be moot. I took one dose of 1 gram and was pretty knocked out by it. I felt drugged and this was not a die-off reaction, so there's no way I can do 14 days of this.
I'll wait a day or two and try out the equimax or mebendazole.
