"Sorry still all new to this...how can you tell the difference if the adrenal issue is in the medulla or cortex? How are the symptoms different? "
== Sorry too involved for a reply here but it is important to distinguish between them.
Would love to know more about your friend. What kind of symptoms did she have?
== PTSD for decades even after lots of counseling, mood swings, foggy head, lack clear thinking in times of stress, hypoglycemia, etc.
Why both progesterone and HC?
== and pregnenolone, testosterone cream. Learn about them.
Right now I feel like a walking estrogen bomb but if I take progesterone, my body becomes more manic. I think the progesterone is converting straight to cortisol.
== or is the opposite happening--more is getting converted to androgens giving you above average libido, strength, husky voice, etc.
I think laughingdogs had the same problem. My guess is that to break the cycle you would either need to lower your estrogen levels or introduce HC to interrupt the HPA loop so that when you introduce progesterone it isn't being shunted to make more cortisol b/c your body thinks it needs it.
== I think you'd be wise to work with a doctor who does hormone balancing. Don't expect an HMO doctor to do this well. A functional med doc probably would work well.
Please le met know. Either way would love to stop this non-stop agitated feeling in my stomach. It's annoying. Oh, and some sleep would be nice.
== I've heard that in some people the body can make adrenaline and related chemicals in the medulla but is struggling to make cortisol and some other adrenal cortex hormones. The extra adrenaline is the body's attempt to kick-start the production of cortex hormones.
