I am not educated like ginagirl, but I try everything. I use TMG for low stomach acid, most people have low acid over the age of 40. Read up on TMG it is good for a lot of reasons. I use bitters on the tongue with meals. I always have had high cholesterol but reading that forum I don't worry about it. Someone once mentioned take 220 plus your age will be right for you. Once I got it down with flush niacin but then I got lazy and never tried again. I try to stay away from sugar (fruit) because of my high triglycerides. We all run in the same problem how to diagnose our own body. It is just a matter of not giving up.
Edit: TMG is made from sugar beets, but most companies have changed to synthetics. So far this is the only company I have found that has not. I am planning to buy from them next time.
