Hi Surfmonk, I can comment on it as the originator. What I have found is if you have any existing chronic conditions the Iodine
will expose it. In my case, I was unaware I had chronically congested sinuses, but other than a poor sense of smell I had no issue, and I was told several years ago that the partial loss of smell was nerve damage so I was blissfully unaware of the havoc I sleepwalked into. The Iodine
made me feel great for 3 months and I had just slowly built up to 3mg a day. At 3 months the cervical glands in my neck started to pump heavily and pushed up my blood pressure. Sinuses were not diagnosed even after ER visits and doctor visits. I got worse and worse purely because my sinuses were heavily detoxing and the detox pathways were heavily blocked, there was nowhere for it to go. There was no sensation of pain in the sinuses, but when the throbbing started in was all over my body and it was the most frightening thing I had ever experienced, it would go on for 24 hours to 3 days and put me in bed every time. I only found out it was sinuses 4 weeks ago by default after being given higher doses of beta blockers which reduced my pulse enough to create some movement. I also found out at the same time I have hashimotos which probably did not help. Stopping Iodine
did not help either. I am still not well, and I would not wish what I have been through on anyone. That said, I am now starting to slowly build up iodine again as I know I need it. I see several posts about fluttering/pulsing in the neck after taking iodine on the forum so I guess it is a common problem. I honestly think that had my sinuses not been so chronically blocked I would have suffered little or no detox. So good luck to you. I plan to just go to 1mg and stay on that for a long time before I go any higher. I would also add I did everything right, companion supps, salt, hydration, healthy Diet
etc - I was just unlucky not to know I had an underlying issue. BTW, anyone with the same issue, cranial osteopathy really helps, had my first treatment 2 days ago and it has made a significant difference!
