William F. Koch, the genius. PhD in chemistry, professor U of M. Studied under Moses Gomberg, the father of free radical chemistry whose discoveries were not appreciated until 40 years later when they became the basis of the polymer industry. Koch went on to also earn an MD and applied free radicals to medicine. Early experiments with parathyroidectomized dogs led this brilliant observer first to tissue thrombin derived from heart and brain, but low efficacy and reproducibility. Next, using chemistry knowledge, discovered total new energy generating mechanism in mammals involving dehydrogenating power of carbonyl groups, accounting for large energy production outside the Krebs cycle, instead occurring in the reticuloendothelial system. It is par for the course that pioneers often do not receive the credit they are due, as shown in the cases of Gomberg and Koch. This is just how the mind of the masses behaves, the neuroses described by William Reich. The Public MInd is ill. You can invent the greatest thing on earth and take it to a company, and they will not want it, because they themselves did not come up with it. It is the "not invented here" syndrome. They then call the invention as being "obvious", using their 20/20 hindsight.
Sour grapes are good, they often contain high levels of resveratrol, which activates about 150 anti-aging genes. Yet, resveratrol is ineffective orally, destroyed by the gut. How do the grape cures work ? By keeping the grapes in one's mouth a long time. The buccal and sublingual absorption goes directly to the blood. Surely, everybody knows this. Surely everybody knows the chemical reason why Dr. Koch forbade his patients with an inhibited FCG system from eating grapes.
