Some advice would be really appreciated right now. I'm day 34 of my first WOF and I can't keep water down, it repulses me. Vomiting and wretching all day for days. This healing crisis isn't passing. I feel too ill to get out of bed or shower. The night before last I was so bad I began to pray. I obviously can't end the fast now while I'm in the middle of a severe healing crisis, the last thing my body needs is the stress of digestion on top of all this. Does anyone out there have any expeience with this level of crisis? Feeling very emotional too. Thank you to anyone out there reading this.Advertisement

Basically what this means is that your body does not want water. Try hot water and drink it like tea, just a few sips. Although this is one of the symptoms of fasting, I would suggest listen to your body. If you feel that continuing the fast will harm you and there is no way you can continue, you should break the fast. But if water is staying down, most juices will not either.
Please put warm coconut oil or castor oil on your stomach and gently massage it.
I hope that this stage passes soon. My heart goes out to you. You have done a great job.

This is a reply to # 2,408,678Thank you so much, your reply is really appreciated. I will try what you say and see how it goes. I think my gall bladder is trying to detox but for some reason it can't get rid of it. Yesterday I tried to shower bit had to sit down. I then vomited yellow bile, I began to feel very shaky and made it to bed. I then slept for hours bit since then I've had pains. I will try the oil rub and sip hot water.
I had hoped to end this fast when true hunger returned but I think it would be wiser to end it on day 40. I can hold out til then.
Do you think a dry fast would help my body expel the toxins? My tongue is no longer white and the disgusting smell from my skin has gone now.

I am glad that you are feeling a bit better and not giving up. Good signs that you don’t have pink tongue and no Body Odor . I don’t think you need to dry fast now, you need some water to keep toxins moving. But has to be as per thirst. People drink copious amount of water, but that is a lot of burden for the kidneys.
Yes, I would break my fast on day 41. Break your fast very gently. First day water and juice mixed. After you refeed for a few months, you can always fast for maintenance.
Also consider doing Liver Flush after two months.

This is a reply to # 2,408,774Archus, it worked! I bought some castor oil and rubbed my tummy, I then lay on my front with my bum in the air (the only position which was comfortable). After about 30 minutes I had a tiny poo, TMI? Hahaha I then fell asleep, no pain, no nausea for 7 hours! I don't know when I've slept that long, or peacefully. Thank you!
I woke up and had a nice drink of water and it all started back up again. So, I haven't drank. I know you said to keep the toxins moving but it's unbearable. Even when boiled and sipped. I did an amazing golden puke, my littlest asked me "have you been eating treasure?" Pmsl!
I've lost track of how many days I'm at, I think day 40 is tomorrow (30th March was my first full day without food so I think that makes tomorrow day 40). I plan on juicing cucumber. OMG I want cucumber! I'll be careful though.

Please, yes, be careful of how much you juice and drink. Include some citrus fruit juices mixed with water to activate your acids. Also avoid cucumber after 6pm.

This is a reply to # 2,408,863Would you direct me or help me plan a refeeding schedule please? I planned on drinking green juice for a week, followed by some easy to digest fruit and raw foods for a week, then some lightly steamed vegetables and then other plant based whole foods. Also, I know my body isn't done healing. Now that big hitter is out the way I'm wondering should I continue to the point of true hunger? I'd like to, but me being out of action is hard for the family. I also know I have gone this far and the doubts come and go.
Pain has a way of tricking you but when that lifts there's a renewed energy. I don't want to take myself out of the oven until the juices run clear.

This is a reply to # 2,408,867I've just reread Dr Shelton's advice on refeeding. A half glass of juice every hour on day 1, full glass every 2 hours on day 2, pieces of fruit day 3 etc :)

Yeah, I reached capacity after about 4 glasses of Watermelon juice yesterday. I just made some green juice for breakfast but I couldn't drink it, it smelled like bile.
My stomach and intestines feel very tender, but I can sip hot water now so that's good.
Yes, it was Dr Shelton's work that gave me the courage to do a 40 day water only fast. I found it a great source of comfort, especially doing it alone. I would say it's essential reading for anyone wanting to do a long term fast.
I learnt so much about myself on this fast. I hope to be able to do another one in a few months. I'm going to eat very clean for the rest of my life now, I feel as though I've dodged a bullet.
