The usual dose is 1/8 to 1/16 teaspoon at a time, 3x a day. I place it dry on my tongue and wash it down with water. If a person has thrush, swish it around in the mouth and hold, then swallow. Eases stomach pains, bloating, intestinal cramps, diarrhea (take with acidophilus, bifidus for the runs) etc. within 30 min. Caution! You will get die off symptoms with this, so don't give up if at first you feel worse. My kidneys would ache like mad. Ease off if you have to and take urinary/kidney support herbs, such as cornsilk, dandelion, marshmallow (herb!), parsely, uva ursi. Check "Back to Eden" for other kidney/bladder herbs. Solaray makes a good urinary/kidney wash called "Kidney SP-6". It's in capsules you just swallow with water and drink plenty of water! Keep up on your minerals as these are lost "in the wash."
Nystatin is a plant ... let me look it up... Oops, Ok it's found in the soil and is a mold that knocks out other yeasts and molds, including candida albicans. It used to be, that in WWII when penicillin was discovered, physicians later routinely gave nystatin after a course of penicillin to fight off the growth of c. albicans! What is hidden from the public is that because this protocol proved so successful, drug companies hid this truth from doctors because they knew that untreated c. albicans would pay off a billion times over (= $$$) in related health problems from full-blown systemic candida! So the practice eventually fell by the wayside as doctors aged and quit practicing medicine. Wow! (Source: William G. Crook "The Yeast Connection: A Medical Breakthrough".)There's also an interesting book on the subject, probably long out of print, but maybe can be found at
http://www.exlibris.com or amazon.com It's called "The Fungus Fighters" by Richard S. Baldwin, 1981,

This stuff REALLY helped me, especially with anxiety/panic and intestinal craziness. I still use it if I get a food that is not fresh enough... I get stomach pains and nystatin cures it in 30 min. Good luck. Oh, one question... Were you able to get it without a prescription? thanks, Nancy
