As I'm sitting here typing this message I'm swatting or wiping away at my body from the crawling, biting, itching sensations. One topic that I haven't seen much about anywhere is how contagious is this disease? I run a daycare and have had to call everyone and tell them not to bring their children this past week. My partner has been home from work all week as well. We both began exhibiting the rare and unusual symptons 7 days ago(thread-like fibers, small nit-like balls, black specks,...etc. We have been to the doctor twice this week and are currently being treated for scabies with acticin and an anti-biotic if it happens to be something else. The doctors don't really want to listen to us when we explain the symptons. We both have registered our symptons with the Morgellons Research Institute and have done an enormous amount of research on the internet. We are trying to piece together as much information as possible so that we can let the closest people to us know what is going on (our children). We are afraid to go anywhere in fear of infecting anyone else and under no means can anyone come inside this house right now. I read where you talk about your boyfriend, did he get the disease as well? Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated.

fyi: on more than one occurance, i experienced the same (sharp biting pains, like a lot of things too small to be seen were hurling themselves at me). went to ER only to be accused of being on drugs. i also spent some time in hotels (LA) and thought i had scabies (treated w/ lindane and something else)
so much work to get well! it's like you have to change everything; nothing else has worked, however. thank you for posting even after you are cured. surely it will help someone. i shall look into anti-candida diet and parasite cleanses immediately.

My mother told me about sharp biting pains and she thought it was a parasite. She asked me if I had these pains too. I did not at the time, but now I do have them, and my little girls have them too. I do not know how to get rid of them.

I have read all the posting on unidentified skin parasites and not one mention of anyone using Huda Clark's zapper. The zapper kills fungus and parasite on the skin. I have had one day cures for jock itch , fungus, and yeast infection in the groin and genital areas. Try it you will like it.

you are not in this alone. please stop cutting yourself. I think you're right that they prefer to enter through cuts and scabs; why make it easier on 'em?
Most of the people with this infection reside in CA, I think TX is second and I can't remember the exact order, but there people with this in most states as well as internationally. I imagine the parasite or whatever it is, prefers a warmer climate. I mention local, because I'm in the SF bay area and KTVU news did a story on us up here. The reporter believes us and there are a growing number of bay area doctors who are coming around. I will look for the link and post it so that you may watch a tape of the broadcast on line (they are short, less than five minutes ea.)
Hang in there. Your doctor will more than likely be worthless to you as far as help in curing yourself. Better spend your time on line, researching and talking to people with your symptoms who have been successful curing themselves. There are a few, believe it or not. (most I've read about battled it by boosting their immune systems, following various (strict) diets, and herbal suppliments. I hope this helps!

also, stay away from any harsh chemicals. I know at one point I was just so frustrated I would put anything on my skin in effort to kill 'em. they seem oddly resistant to harsh chemicals, esp pesticides, foggers and bombs; all I did was wreck my skin and probably compromise my skin further. try apple cidar vinnegar diluted in water. Also, it seems to dislike anything menthol; I go through muscle rub like lotion (NOT ON FACE! BIG MISTAKE, HARD LEARNED; IT WILL STING LIKE NOTHING ELSE IF YOU HAVE THIS) Also, shave everything possible or use Nair (nair really works, but beware that our skin is way more sensative to this, as well).

At first they seemed to be everywhere. At home and at my work. However now I decontaminate myself as soon as I arrive at home. Eradication is not easy, first you must find the source, mine was a dead bird, and a dead rat above the ceiling tiles. Then you need to systematically treat and retreat the source with pymethryns, also trymethryns work well. I still have not completely eradicated them from my work environment. However I spray my lower pants socks and shoes with a product called Deep Woods Off containing an active ingredient of 25% DEET as soon as I get to work, and usually retreat myself after about 4 hours. I have also found that using tiny amounts of pymethryn applied on my skin after a shower to be helpful if I get a bite.

When I say a tiny amount, I mean tiny. Typically when I used elimite which is 5% pymethryn. I would place a dot or two no larger than 1/4 inch and rub it all over sill wet skin after a shower. Be sure not to miss the soles of your feet. When I ran out of elimite I made my own formula using one ounce of RID a common lice removal product added to a small 6oz container of skin creme. Again, I only use two small dots of this stuff on wet skin after a shower. Then I lightly pat myself dry with a towel.

I can not recommend this treatment for anyone else because long term uses of pymethryns are not recommended.

I also found on a web site a way to find where your heaviest contaminated areas are. Place black construction paper vertically in different areas around. The mites will crawl to the top edge of these surfaces and can be seen under magnification.

I am currently investigating the use of soaps with sulfur in them. It seems that these bugs ( which are actually arachnids) do not like sulfur, and I certainly want to discontinue any use of permethryns as soon as possible.

I am a professional computer person, use to analytical thinking, and solving complex problems through the use of dividing the issue until what remains is the source or cure of an issue. I do not have any medical training, and am posting this information strictly as observations of my personal fight against this condition.

Useful tips:

1.) Attack the problem at it's source, find the cause of the infestation and remove it from your environment. It's not enough to just remove the dead bird or rat. The nest and any contaminated area must also be cleaned.

2.) Try using insect repellants containing DEET.

3.) Vacuum carpets, and furniture, or steam clean. I add a tiny amount of a product called ZEP Pest control concentrate to the steam cleaning solution this product contains trimethryns a synthetic pymethryn, use less than 1/2 ounce in two gallons of water. More is not better.

4.) Expect this to be a long battle, complete resolution of this issue can take 6 or more months.


PS Useful information.

These insects are probably not under your skin. When they bite they release a compound that liquifies skin. The severe skin reaction is from the feeding tube left behind. However, I personally believe that in some cases, possibly with people like myself who exhibit allergic skin reaction to certain things, and have dry skin, they may be able to get under the skin.

I believe the white dot you refer to are these mites in their larve stage.

Pymethryn is a natural inscectiside derived from flowers. Trymethryn is a much stronger synthetic form of pymethryn.

These pests are highly mobile, don't let their size fool you. They and travel from the bottom of you shoes to the top of your heat in about 15 minutes. The equivilant of a human climbing Mount Everest in about the same time.

I can tell you that steam cleaning really helps. When I started out noticing them I would take paper towels and rub my legs and could se what looked like light blond to brown hairs. That quickly grew into Black hairs cocooned with a small bug in them in my skin I pick I cant help it they are only on my arms which are open ost times. I did have springtails in y house I think these are cotton moths. I do see the brown specs in the sores as well I have many samples is there anywhere to send them I live in Kentucky
