My grandson had lost all language and was having numerous seizures including
drops.
He was diagnosed with LKS.
He went on the ketogenic diet and is seizure free. He went seizure free in
the hospital the day after he started the diet.
It was a miracle for us. He can talk again and is doing very well.
Our Nuero had mentioned either the keto diet or surgery to try.
Thank God the diet did the trick so he didn't have to have any surgery. He
has been on the diet 2 years in May and they are talking about weaning the
diet to see if his brain has healed enough that he won't have to be on it
anymore.
He has also slowly come off of 4 seizure medications. He is happy and alert
now. He is 6 years old. He can read and play soccer.

This is a reply to # 56,093Hi Hallie! I'm really curious about this ketogenic diet and how it helped your son. What does it entail specifically? My boyfriend has been having seizures for as long as he can remember. They tend to happen often, even being three in a row, when he's stressed and he seems most vulnerable when he's lying down. No one knows how to explain his condition except there is a dark spot on his brain that is growing and may prove fatal if he has another major seizure.
