Hi Samantha,
I would strongly caution against turning to a modality like homeopathy for something like this. Like fasting gurus, homeopathy advocates trumpet their amazing success stories but seldom discuss their catastrophic failures.
I would ask around for experts in the medical field, interview their lead nurses, and see who makes the most sense and has the best vibes. (Note: They always say that their doctor is great.) Get them to say specifically how the doctor would approach the situation. Then go in for an office visit and get a second opinion. Do not share the diagnosis you received from the first doctor, and see what this new doctor says.
If the doctor you choose feels that it would not hurt for her to try another healing modality for a certain period of time before beginning standard medical treatment, or in conjunction with standard medical treatment, then that might be something to consider.
It gets swept under the rug that people try alternative methods of, for example, beating cancer, without success. They then turn to traditional Western medicine, only to be told that their condition has progressed to the point where there is no hope, and they die a very difficult death.
I know of two cases like this. Believe me, it's not pretty. It can also be a very guilt-ridden experience for the friend or family member who suggested the alternative treatment over traditional medical care. And that doesn't end with the death of their loved one.
There are a number of potential reasons for heavy bleeding that bear investigation. Just don't wait too long before taking a known, safer approach if there is one.
