Hi Dr. V! I just got my hair analysis results back. I used the one from the bodypure site. Out of the 20 elements and minerals tested I was out of range on 4 of them. High on Calcium, Magnesium, Strontium. Low on Vanadium. Aren't hair analysis results usually backwards to what is really going on in the body? Even though I am not out of range on the other things it still could mean that my body is storing them correct?

The hair analysis is a practical tissue sample that reflects the mineral and metal content of the rest of the body. It would be similar to actually taking a biopsy of another tissue in the body (not very practical) and analyzing it.

I recently had a hair analysis and was very high on these exact things; strontium, magnesium and calcium. I recently completed my 11th liver cleanse so I believe that it had an impact on my hair analysis readings. Since I was ridding my body of many calcium deposits and also ingesting a large portion of magnesium ( Epsom Salts ), the excess comes out of the body. I don't know if you are also doing liver cleanses, but this may be a possible factor they are high if you are doing them.

This is a reply to # 657,853Yes, you know, I saw your post and thought hey, hers is exactly like mine! I have done a total of 6 Liver Flushes but it's been a while since my last one on February 6th. I'm sure that was still in my hair since I think hair only grows around 1/2 inch per month. I was reading a few of Dr. Huggins email booklets and it said that typically when the levels of calcium in the hair are above 1,000 ppm (mine is around 1,800) it is a pretty safe bet that most of it is in the non-biologically reactive form. He said when calcium is high from taking supplements that are non-biological, the strontium will also be elevated. Calcium in the non-biological forms is generally accompanied by strontium. I'm just wondering though how I got so much non-biological calcium since I have never taken calcium supplements. I guess maybe from processed and enriched foods? I can see how magnesium would be high with the Epsom Salts since you ingest a lot with the flushes. Isn't magnesium sulfate in the correct form for the body to use? I really have to study more about this. Ionic vs. metallic, biologically reactive vs. non-biologically reactive. Were you high or low on anything else? My vanadium level was border line low. Which I thought it would be high because I've been eating a lot of chocolate. I remember reading that vanadium contamination occurs with chocolate. I still don't know if vanadium is a good thing or not. So much to learn!

I've had two hair analysis done since I recently took out my Amalgam fillings. On the first analysis calcium was 1,616 and on the second it was 1441. I also don't take any vitamin or calcium supplements and and my strontium and calcium are very high. I also try to stay away from fortified foods. I thought Epsom Salt was, but am not certain if it's in the correct form for the body to use.
I'm not very familiar with Dr. Huggins philosophy on minerals, but I had posted the question to Andreas Moritz since I was a little worried, and he did say the calcium and magnesium could get high with liver cleansing. I was high on nickel, vanadium, calcium, magnesium, strontium and chromium on the first hair analysis. On the second analysis my nickel, and vanadium levels were within normal but chromium, strontium, calcium and magnesium were still high. The chromium was only a few points out of the reference range. I wasn't low on anything.
I have also noticed that hair analysis must be a lot more sensitive than bloodwork. I recently had blood work done and calcium was within the normal range but on the high side.

This is a reply to # 657,859Hi Jessica! That's great your numbers are coming down. Are you planning on doing another hair analysis? How long do you wait between them? These are my levels: Calcium (1,857.3), Magnesium (123.2), Strontium (4.55), Vanadium (<0.0254). Are you using the foot pads also, I can't remember? I have an appointment with my doctor today to discuss my hair analysis results. Not sure if he'll be able to offer me any advice but it's worth a try. I'm also going to ask about getting some blood work done. I think I'm going to do a Liver Flush next week. Today is my last day of work so I will be free to do whatever I want now. Yay! I'm also anxious to start using the foot pads. They've been sitting in my closet for weeks now. I'm waiting until 3 days before my dental appointment to start them.

This is a reply to # 657,859I went to my doctor on Friday and he basically said that he didn't know why my calcium level was so high and to not give a second thought to it (the hair analysis). My blood level of calcium was normal....9.0 I have to call back on Mondy for the rest of my results.
