Hello! I just found this site, and started yesterday. So far I'm feeling really good and have no hunger. Lost 4.5 lbs the first day so am psyched! Lots of energy but I did do a week of pre-fasting with no wheat, caffeine etcetera. Did this once before and had awful caffeine widthdrawal heachaches.
Here is the juice recipe from Ann Louise Gittleman
s "Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet (it's actually 11 days, but you only juice fast for one):
-bring 7 cups of pure water and 1 cup pure unsweetened cranberry juice to a gentle boil
-add 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg and 1/4 (I use 1/2 though) tsp ground ginger, turn down and simmer 20 minutes
-cool to room temp
-add 3/4 cup fresh orange juice and 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
-add 2 packets Stevia (I like 4) *note this is the ONLY sweetener allowed
Alternate 1 cup of water, then 1 cup of juice each hour, so you are having 2 quarts
of each (at least) throughout the day and evening.
Apparently they all work sinergystically to fight hunger pangs, rev metabolism, keep blood Sugar
balanced, aid the liver in making bile and other good stuff. It REALLY stops the hunger pangs, that is for sure. Today I added a couple veggie and fruit juices, and veggie broth made from the veggie pulp with spices but am still using the cranberry/water as well as plain h2o. It travels really well, which is a bonus. 16 oz
of water plus 16 oz
of cranberry/water is enough 'food' for 4 hours. I have no idea how long I'll do this for, but if this is the hardest part, the first few days, then probably for quite a while...
