I too have had heavy bleeding during my periods. this can be caused by many different things. does your sister bleed inbetween periods as well? my own sister had similar problems, and she's in her early 30's - she would skip periods for months, then maybe have a light period, then have a heavy one.....crazy! she also would have lots of pain! does you sister have any pain? also, does she take vitamins, or any herbal supplements? sometimes, this can also cause a heavier period - it won't cause bleeding in between though. Personally, I wouldn't have the hystarectomy! There are many other ways of dealing with this. You can have her call 1800-herbdoc ( Dr. Schulze ) and ask a few questions, they're very nice. She should order the Female Formula, which is what I got when I had some very heavy periods. She should probably do a few cleanses as well, which you can read about on this site.

I have no period now and all my female parts are still here. It's a good solution that I urge you to investigate. DNC won't work and hysterectomy is too extreme (unless there are large fibriods, tumors, etc.). The NovaSure procedure is a life saver!
