please can you let me know how you got on with the Athlete's Foot treatment. I work in Japan, have had folliculitis for about 10 years, on the top of my scalp, have been on & off anti-biotics, the usual story, from what I've read. I want to give up the anti-b's because they're not working anymore. Any advice appreciated. I want to get an idea what really might help before I start getting things shipped out to me. Thanks.

This is over the counter, I bought mine at walmart. I looked at all the ingredients and decided on Zeasorb-AF which has miconazole nitrate. If this is a fungus bacteria that is causing the hair follicle to be damaged, why wouldn't someone want to use a real treatment that doesn't cost tons of money and does certainly work. I do agree it might not cure the underlying problem with why does it still come back even after its gone. But if the folliculitis is not there wouldn't that be a sign that your body is helping to get rid of the problem. It works for me and I have no pain anymore. I just can not quite shaving, not an option. I do also eat healthy as much organic food as possible and take vitamins because our body doesn't produce some things that we need if we don't get that vitamin in our food such as vitamin C.

The problem is all the antiobiotics you have taken. Antibiotics can allow fungus to spread, thereby causing Pityrosporum Folliculitis which can resemble Acne and go misdiagnosed... in my case, misdiagnosed for several years, by several dermatologists, all of whom kept giving me different antiobiotics. Finally I figured out what I had on my own, went to a new dermatologist, presented him with the facts, and he agreed with the new diagnosis. The only things that work for me are:

Floconazole 150mg every other day (have to watch out for liver problems and problems with other medications like crestor)

Washing with Ciclopirox Shampoo 3x per week.

Using Extina foam as needed, but using it every day seems to cause irritation.



<<Antibiotics for so many years my body has now rejected ut all. I have severe reactions if I take any medications. SO I am stuck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
