All that food will be there after this weekend and for your whole life. How often do you actually take the time to give the body a rest? It's much harder to stop & start again and better for the body to continue toward the original goal.
When I have to go to a "food event" while fasting I bring my juice with a beautiful glass plus plenty of peppermint tea. I sip & have social time while others stuff their faces. I take in all the smells and visual beauty of the food making a mockery of how much living is based on eating. Look at all those people suffering their way through life simply because they eat too much food. It's sad in away...SAD...the standard american diet that is.
Fasting makes a person stronger and adds years to your life. Do you live to eat or eat to live? When I have moments of hunger I find it's usually my mind. The easiest way to get past it is to just be present in each moment. Maybe you could stop thinking about this weekend and be wherever you are. Maybe you will collapse breakdown & eat OR maybe you will stay focused on your original goal. The choice is yours and our choices define our life. Make the choice that will give you the most peace of mind.
