Well I tried countless times to heal my leaky gut but it never worked. The supps that were supposed to help just burned the inflamed tissues even more. Now that I'm doing a lot better I am convinced it was the candida drilling in that was causing most of the inflamation/pain. Now if I eat something I'm allergic to or break the diet, it causes a LOT of pain again. But then it calms back down rather qucikly, as there's not nearly so much candida in me anymore. I just can't imagine anything working until we've solved the initial problem which is the candida drilling into the gut wall.
As for bowel cleansing, I'd recomend colonics. I started out with those and I'm sure they saved my life. You would not imagine how much compacted waste I had in me. Small wonder I was having chronic pain in my back, legs and joints. They're not a cure all though...not for us candida folks. Because you still have to solve the problem of getting enough good guys back into your gut. My
colonic lady didn't seem to understand that ( nor did I at the time ). She kept wondering why I wasn't completely well after several series of
colonics ( about 25 sessions ). Just another case of how this illness is so misunderstood by people. They think you can just buy a couple of bottles of probiotics and be well! It just doesn't work that way ( and I should know...lord knows I've been at this for quite a long time now! )
Anyway, you don't have to use colonics. You can do some fiber based cleanses. Those will clean out your small intestine as well as your large bowel. But they work a lot slower than
colonics is all ( which is fine...we aren't in a race and this is a slow process ). And if your insides are extremely inflamed, the psyllium may irritate you more ( it did with me ). Try visiting the
Bowel Cleanse Forum for ideas if you like. :-)
Sorry about this long post...just trying to be helpful.
