I just had my Mirena removed. It was no biggie getting it removed. I had it removed during my annual exam including pap, so between the exam and the pap, I didn't even notice much that he removed it. It really didn't hurt a bit. Of course when I was telling my doctor about the side effects I thought I was experiencing as a result of the mirena and of course he just laughed and said it couldn't be that! Yeah, right, we will see. I will update every few days or so to let you know what I am experiencing after removal.

This is a reply to # 849,201I just had mine removed this morning as well. I feel fine at the moment. I almost feel relieved, like my body is happy to have it gone. My ob/gyn did not discount all my symptoms, but I do not know if she fully believed it was because of the Mirena. We shall see. I will also update how I am feeling over the next couple of months.
My dilemma now is what form of birth control to use. For those that have had this thing removed, what form of birth control will you use? I am 38 and am done--done--done with children. Has anyone tried the computerized devices or programs to track your ovulation?
