Hi,
I realy loved doing juice cleanses and the Master Cleanse. I had really great experiences doing both, icluding days of just absolute euphoria which is something I haven't experienced yet doing this
Water Fast although I did have one energy spurt for roughly 12 hours so far. Both take a little work though to prepare for yourself, although
The Master Cleanse takes a little less.
For the juice cleanses I did many, anywhere from 5-14 days and I have done a 10-day and a 14-day Master Cleanse.
My favorite juice combination of all time is pineapple and
Celery with a little kale added in. I also loved
Watermelon juice too. I was pretty hardcore most of the time about it and would only prepare what I was willing to drink right away, usually about 16oz. of juice at a time, so there was a lot of cleanup involved each time with the juicer. Sometimes when I was feeling lazy, I would drink store-bought bottled organic juice to drink in the morning and then I would get 2 other juice drinks at a juice bar for the rest of the day. Those days tended to be more expensive, but sometimes I needed a break from doing all of that juicing. Summer is a great time to do it since there is so much great produce out there. You can get a lot of mileage out of
juicing relatively inexpensive celery, carrot and apple to juice as bases for your juice.
I really loved
The Master Cleanse because it was like being able to drink lemonade all the time. I have no tolerance for spicy things at all, so I did it with Cayenne capsules that were buffered to be easy on your stomach and I had great results. I also used colon cleansing pills once a day instead of the traditional lax tea and salt water flush. Not to be too gross, but it was amazing what I was eliminating even at the 10 or 14 day mark. I also did
The Master Cleanse when lemons were much less expensive in my area (I was able to take advantage of a sale both times). Now I only see them for about $.80-.90 cents each which would really start to add up when you consider you need at least 12 lemons a day to do it right. Plus there is the cost of the grade-b maple syrup to add in too.
I am not doing those again because since I've discovered that I am diabetic, I have seen that I am extremely sensitive to even a moderate amount of carbohydrates or sugar, which is what you mainly get through juice cleanses and the MC. I also think I have mild Candida which feeds on
Sugar too. If my diabetes improves though, I might do a juice cleanse of just green juices of such low-sugar vegetables like
Celery and cucumber--this is also how I plan to break my current water fast.
I'm also lucky because I have a window of time when I don't need to work, so doing the
Water Fast for a good length of time is possible for me. I would not even consider it if I had to work. I had a very strenuous and physically demanding job before, and I had no problem working while doing
juicing or the Master Cleanse, so that is a plus. I also was able to work-out which I cannot do at the moment.
I'm also doing water since I want more intense healing which can be achieved through
juicing or the
Master-Cleanse but I think at a much slower rate.
So if you do not have diabetes or Candida and you have an active schedule or you want to work and/or workout, and you are willing to put in the preparation time, then juicing and the Master Cleanse are really awesome experiences that I'm really glad I had and would recommend wholeheartedly.
Best Wishes!
