I have had my IUD MIRENA for 3 years. At first I thought it was great. 1/12 years into it I had sever migraines that would put me practically on my death bed. That stopped. Then I had hot flashes, sweats and severe nausea along with lactation. Doctor said it was "the weather". HA! Now I am having excessive sweating, and througout this time I have grown facial hair and my leg/arm hair has grown darker and grows fast after I shave. Not to mention mild cramping and this acne I have acquired that I cant seem to rid of. Weight pretty much stayed the same. Anyone ever experience these? I am getting mine out Sept 4

MoreThis is a reply to # 953,458I had the hot flashes, bad sweating, hot hands and acne. My Acne was bad. I NEVER had acne. I had great skin in high school and then all of a sudden in my late 30s I get acne. What in the world. I got my IUD out May 3rd. My skin looks great. I still get one weird pimple every once in a while. I think it took about a month for my skin to start looking better. But it is like night and day. Take care. You will be so happy when you don't have the IUD anymore.

MoreThis is a reply to # 953,458There's a link to a document that someone posted on this web site a few days ago that mentions something about nonpuerperal (sp?) lactation being a side effect that has been reported with Mirena. I think it probably mentions the other side effects you mentioned too, but I specifically remember that one.
