Re: Try this..

"Part of being Christian is seeking truth; it does not always come easy."

Sorry, again, but I have to step in here... to straighten out this absurd misunderstanding...

Being Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish or a follower of any of the so-called established religions is accepting 'belief' over the journey to experience truth for oneself first hand...
Accepting belief is accepting what has been said by others to be the truth... written by someone else... to be truth...
This is borrowing the idea of what truth is from another. This is cutting short the authentic search of finding out truth for oneself from first hand experience...

Finding truth by being christian, or any of the others above... will guarrantee that it does not ever come easy, in fact, assures that it will not come at all... Jesus did not follow another to become a christ... he followed nobody and became 100% himself...
Jesus originally was a Jew, when he dropped all Jewishness and and beliefs that went along with it, he found himself... that is also what his teaching is... when he said, "Do not cling to me." He was telling to others that had gathered around him not to follow him but to be themselves.

It is the same message that all the enlightened ones have told to others... as Buddha
had said, "if you see me on the way... cut my head..." and his last words to those near him: "be a light unto yourself."

Keep removing the layers of borrowed knowledge, layer after layer... this certainly does not come easy... because it is like removing layers of your own skin. This is because you have come to claim these beliefs as your very own...

Discarding all that crap will no doubt make one feel as though he is vulnerable... and confused... and profoundly insecure... the temptation to scurry back to that which you had been identified with for so long before, the previously held beliefs, will no doubt be quite overwhelming. The ego will create the conflict... because beliefs are its foundation... when the foundation is tossed out, the ego has nothing to stand on... its very existence will be threatened...

This is when one is entering the dark night of the soul... when all belief has been tossed out... and if you persist and stay determined, ego will dissolve on it own and the truth will arise out of the death of the ego... leaving one to discover who they really are. Be a light unto yourself... do not believe anything... and experience everything.
