Re: Burning sensation in stomach when empty-candida?
I have the same thing. I went to my GI doctor and he believes I have SIBO(small intestine bowel overgrowth). He recc the
Antibiotic Xifaxan(Rifaximin. It is a newer
Antibiotic that is NOT systemic in its release,it is only released in the intestines only. So far, I have not decided to try it. I am still not a fan of
Antibiotics .
I am currently taking
Grapefruit-Seed-Extract instead which is helping.
I do believe that my GI Dr is correct. He stated that the SIBO has caused me to have Leaky Gut which is also contributing to many other symptoms I have as well.
There is a test they could do to find out, the Mannitol/Lactulose Test. You drink a solution and then they check for excess in your urine or breath, depending on the test. Typically they also look for elevated hydrogen or methane in your breath, if elevated, it is most likely that you have and overgrowth of bad bacteria in the gut.
I have IBS and one of the symptoms is a burning stomach and GERD. One thinks that IBS is related to only the large intestine but I have read that IBS effects the whole digestive system, from start to finish.
