Re: Why is the United States so Christian?
Yep, I agree, sometimes God speaks to us in our hearts.
Actually Tomi, I do need to seek God everyday. I am a class A sinner. It's shocking to me how I can sit here and tell you about God's love for me, yet turn around and do something really hurtful. I think I'll be battling w/ the world, my flesh & least but not lastly Mr. Satan. (Who for some reason never gets a mention on this board) Why is that? Shouldn't we include him in some of our conversations? If we speak about God then we need to speak about Satan as well I think.
Anyways, If I turn my back and distance God and go my own way I'm not quite as happy and peaceful as I could be. The trinitarian God created us to know him, love him and serve him in this world. Once we die we can be happy w/ him in heaven. He wants to be friends w/ us. Simplistic? Try to wrap your head around that one, it's still a hard concept to grasp, at least for me.
You mention that God is in all of us, was he inside Hitler while he committed genocide against the Jews? What about a person that kidnaps, rapes, and murders, is God inside them while they do this crimes? If God is love and incapable of sinning, where did sin come from? If God in infinite Love, than wouldn't sin be not in his nature?
Where does sin come from? :) Sorry to ramble on.
