Re: Thinking of Self Medicating

Dear “ithappens”...
I know what you are going through. It is exactly what I've experienced. An excellent book is Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st century stress syndrome, by Dr. James L. Wilson at
http://www.adrenalfatigue.org
.
I have had adrenal fatigue for over 30 years without knowing what it was. I finally found out about 7 years ago. I was improving, but got arsenic poisoning from treated lumber 2 years ago and had a bad relapse and am now quite sensitive to toxins.
I used Dr. Wilson's protocol for adrenal recovery and it worked well. I was also on 20 mg of hydrocortisone for several months that I weaned off of onto Himalayan Goji Juice, which will help adrenals too. I also began culturing milk kefir and found that it was helpful.
I take some natural salt in a glass of water when i get up in the morning, which boosts me a little. Vitamin C is very important for the adrenals, but it needs to have the bioflavinoids. Dr. Wilson has that. Also I started out with his glandular extracts. His are better than others that I've used. Don't let anyone scare you away from the glandular extracts. He uses a pocine (pork) source. He says that some people don't recover without them.
Your blood Sugar is probably bouncing around, since your cortisol is low. Try not to eat fruit, or lots of high-potassium veggies in the morning. Your body is dumping too much salt, if you're like me, and you need to limit potassium and take salt in your drinks. If Gator-Aide makes you feel tired...that's why.
Try to knap and get whatever sleep you can. If your cortisol is too low or too high, it will be hard to sleep. I have to have food on my stomach in order to sleep, and I wake-up and snack between 2am and 5am.
Household toxins also cause me trouble and exhaust me: chlorine, fragrances in soaps/detergents/cologne, fabric softener is a bad one, which causes me ensomnia. I can't do carpet or petroleum based products.
You can try some of these things, but get that book....www.adrenalfatigue.org

Also, I always look at Acne problems as a candida issue, since the toxins from candida caused me skin problems and my life-long Acne disappeared with my candida cure, as did my athletes feet, nasal drip, soar throats, lung congestion. I found many of those symptoms are part of the hypoadrenal syndrome, but candida is a major part of the cause.(www.thecandidayeastanswer.com)
