the ricca stuff sounds more like potassium Iodide than lugols. in fact, with some color, it sounds a lot like wilsons formula of a much higher potassium KI to I2 ratio.

i agree with you, the rugers is rough. it could be something to do with the source of the I2 or the KI OR the WATER. i got my first bottle of rugers from medex before they sold out and stopped stocking it. medex saw the handwriting on the wall and discontinued the Lugols before it ever became an issue. that company is being run by some very knowledgeable and conservative people. wonder if they are public?

the medex and jcrow orders i recieved were the exact same ruger product in the same bottle. when i put magnets on my dropper bottle, it really mellowed the Iodine out and i was able to take more of it quicker because of that. i use the magnetic bottle to this day, even though i am making my own formula.

i have taken both of these offerings internally and done so for months. the most Iodine i have taken has been rugers. i have had three bottles of iodoral and one bottle of magnascent. i have not had riccas. when i did make my own lugols, it was somehow sweeter in taste. it was strong smelling, but not as acrid as the rugers. i am so used to the smell of it now that i barely notice the difference. all Iodine crystals are basically pure iodine because it is all resublimed from the source. potassium Iodide is a very specific product with not much chance of contamination. that leaves the water which, in an energetic environment like pure iodine, can be of any kind of energy and be amplified by the iodine molecule. there can even be carelessness in the manufacture, like not cleaning out the containers that it is made in. who knows?

i would not worry about it at all. that bottle says USP on it. it better be USP. we have no other choice now. Tweet
