Question regarding Bromine, iodine, acne breakouts.
Hi to all,
I have been reading up a little on
Iodine supplementation but am nervous to try it being that I had to stop taking it in all forms years back to stop breakouts. My skin is great now and I don't look forward to experiencing erruptions again. I am however wanting to improve hypothyroidism and chronic fatigue syndrome which is my reason for reading up on this.
There seems to be an ongoing debate regarding bromine excretion or
Iodine being the actual culprit. My 2 cents....Which makes me question the bromine theory and therefor hesitant (but still curious) to try this (iodine) approach....
I do not believe that I would have a high enough level of bromine in my body to have caused these types of erruptions form
Iodine being that....
A. I have celiac disease and therefor haven't eaten bread of any sort for years.
B. Don't take medications....Except for a small dose of Armour thyroid.
C. Eat organic vegetable.
D. No dairy.
E. Drink Fluoride-free water and don't drink tea.
F. Use non-chemical, enviromentally safe (often home-made) cleaners.
Etc., etc...
In other words, sure, I may have some minor exposure that may slip by here or there but can't see where I would be getting enough bromide exposure to have caused
Acne break-outs.
Anyway, I would appreciate any and all of your thoughts on this and direction to any research on this (bromine) &/or other (non-bromine)
Science behind the iodine related breakouts.
I would also be interested in any 'fixes' to avoid breakouts. So far, I have read up on buffered C and salt water....Also zinc.
Thanks much in advance for your input.
