I also do not want us to argue but rather work together to help us and everyone else. I also agree with you about being careful about alternative medicine because there are a lot of promises out there that may not hold up to what they are trying to sell. I've asked professors before, and the most knowledgeable people you will find in terms of this are oral pathologists, infectious disease, and dermatologists. The best thing they say to do is to get a pathology (biopsy) and a culture done. I think that's a good starting point and standard. I also think it would be good to get a thorough blood testing for viruses, candida, heavy metals, and immunoglobulins. I am only a first year med student, so I don't know a lot about pathology. Are crusted granulomas similar to ulcers because if that is the case then I don't believe a lot of us have ulcerations unless some get cold sores. How have you tried to treat your exfoliative cheilitis so far? Has anything worked positively for you?
