Hi Dutchmom, sorry I didn't have time to read all of your post, but I get what you're saying about our bodies stopping the production of progesterone, because it thinks it has enough. I was just going to put it outthere, that I think Mirena might work better for older women , because our progesterone levels drop off drasticly at perimenopause and menopause, so we are estrogen dominant anyway. I feel fine if not better after i got my Mirena and hopefully I won't be getting it out until after I began menopause. I'm trying Mirena for the treatment of endo and not for birthcontrol. I'm really not sure if I would use Mirena if I was young and healthy.
